Watched GC v Surfers last night. GC too slick against ordinary opposition. Won an uninspiring game by 40 points. Will Graham standout BOG. Kicked maybe 3.2 from the middle. This kid is all footballer. Walters crashed packs, kicked a couple and Ethan Reed demonstrated hes way too agile for 202cm. Those are the 3 who youlle be talking about in November IMO.
Will Graham....he's a champ. If he hadn't done his knee twice he'd be rated even higher. I'd pick above all the others...if he can keep that knee healthy.

Does anyone know the final amount of goals Walter ended up kicking against Surfers? I watched him kicked two in the first quarter and I would estimate that 4-5 of the team's final 10 goal score were kicked in the first quarter but I'm curious about Walter's final goal haul because he really looked on in the first quarter. I'd guess he kicked 4-5 goals in the end but would like some kind of confirmation if anyone knows. For all I know he faded after the first quarter and didn't kick any more, which is another talking point.

Our U18 academy's next game is this coming Sunday against Brisbane's academy at midday in their Springfield headquarters. I'd expect another solid win like last weekend when they beat the Lions comfortably. Hopefully another good showing from our big 3-4 draft prospects.

Let's see how boys go this year. Still probably too early to predict how they will go in draft. I don't follow it closely but regarding height, funny enough Rogers mentioned he would like to play like Pickett (171cm) and Bolton (175cm). Zorko is also 175cm. IMO, height will not me a limiting factor. It will be interesting how many of them will end up on Suns list.

It's not a red flag, but you really need to be exceptional in other areas to make up for it.

So he's quick and agile...Great, and if he was 185cm, that'd probably make him a sure thing, but at 175cm, he needs speed and agility to be in the same ballpark as a freak like Bolton before he'll be regarded that way (and IIRC, even with those attributes, Bolton only went in the second round of the draft)

I believe recruiters and clubs are looking at kids differently today, than they were back in 2016.

They're not as scared to take smaller players earlier in the draft, but still outside the very top echelon. But you're correct that small players need elite athleticism and speed, to go with very good skills, to play the roles they are going to be asked to play at the top level.

Would somebody have guernsey numbers for boys? Hoping to watch game on Sunday against Lions at Springfield. I can't find it (not that I tried hard).

You are the best.

I believe there are 40 players.
I presume 6 missing on the list: Nancarrow, O'Neil, Stringer, Sullivan, Derrington, Hay

Nancarrow boards in Vic but will wear 31 I believe.

I think O’Neil is 1, Stringer is 2, Derrington is 3 and Hay is 5, but not 100%

U18 Suns V U18 Lions.
1pm Sunday, 12pm.

U16 Girls will follow at 2:30pm.

I hope the Absolute Streaming channel keeps this video on their channel after the game ends so we can all see our future Suns with our own eyes. I still think a lot of Suns supporters on this board are yet to see Walter, Rogers and Read play so I can understand why excitement isn't being matched across the board yet. Tomorrow will be a different story and we'll all be able to see just how good they are. Last time our academy played the Lions it was a convincing win so I'm expecting something similar tomorrow before the boys embark on a stretch of four interstate games in Sydney and Melbourne - Swans academy, Calder Cannons, Eastern Ranges & Northern Knights.

The U18 academy game between our boys and Brisbane is about to begin at Springfield. Use SUN OF A GUN 's YouTube link a few posts above if you want to watch. Keep an eye out for our three National Academy boys Walter (30), Rogers (12) and Read (33).

HUGE contested mark at full speed from Walter! He converts his opportunity as well to get his first goal of the day 10 minutes into the first quarter. Exciting stuff!

Read is playing well in the ruck and Rogers doesn't appear to be playing.

Jai Murray gets our second goal of the match on the back of a turnover from a Brisbane defender. Good to see one of the 16s boys getting involved and Murray is probably the highest rated prospect from Queensland in that '25 draft class.

Marks like a 25 year old haha very impressive.

Is Millane playing?

Stringer blasted a goal from 50 metres to kick our third of the day.

Walter just kicked our fourth goal after losing his opponent deep around the goal square. Two for Walter so far and we could be in for a huge game from the big man!

Quarter time and we're up 4.2 (26) to Brisbane 1.2 (8).

If it's true that he wears number 20, then I haven't seen him yet.

Not sure who kicked our third but I think it was number 5 and he blasted it from 50 out.
