So when he was either 17 and not a legal adult in any or had just turned 18 he was a complete f**kwit and cannot possibly have changed within the ensuing almost 40 years?

Come on.
Well, I've talked to people who have been on set with him and they were less than complimentary as well.
You shouldn't assume an opinion is always based on a single incident.

If that’s the case then fair enough but if an incident from someone’s teenage years was determining their character that would not be especially fair grounds for judgement

No, true.
It is interesting to hear what the 'little guy' on set thinks about some of the actors they get to work with though. It does cloud how you view their movies too, for better or worse.

The rumours about Hugh Jackman being a great guy to be around are true, disappointing to hear that Samual L Jackson insisted on being call "Mr Jackson", Tilda Swinton is as weird as you'd expect but everyone just loves her - and it's often the B & C listers who are the biggest divas.

Tom Cruise has a T shirt system on set too - different colours indicate how close you're allowed to get near him. I do respect that he does a lot of his own stunts though.

I’ve never liked Tom Hanks for some reason. Quite a bland actor.

People don’t like Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe but I quite like them
At Tropfest a few years ago there was a tie in one category, so they announce that the two winners will split the $3000.
Russell Crowe is on stage and gets up straight away as says no, both winners get $3k - I'll cover it.

Plus he's been in two movies set in suburbs I've lived in (Romper Stomper - Footscray, and Spotswood).

Much as I want to dislike him for being a Souths man and the infamous ‘throw a mobile phone at a player who would later help the Roosters to two premierships’ incident, Crowe seems in large part to be a mostly decent fellow.

Being in LA Confidential doesn’t hurt as it is arguably the best movie I’ve ever seen. Though Kevin Spacey was also in it and that didn’t work out well for everyone he’s been close to over the years.

In answer to the thread topic:

Charlie Hunnam: recently rewatching SOA - does this guy have any move beyond tilting his head to the side and looking longingly at his other half?

Owen Wilson: his voice grates me

Jack Black: cannot stand his singing as much as I can’t stand his acting. Yes you can hold a note mate, it doesn’t make you a good singer. You don’t have to overact every role you play. Though I did like him in tropic thunder I must admit.

Seth Rogen: this is a love-hate one. I find him very funny in some stuff but f******k mate we get it. You love pot. Play a different guy just occasionally.

Kathy Griffen: a detestable actress who is as unfunny as any comedian is funny.

Can understand the nominations for Adam Sandler - I don’t mind him but can see why he would be nails on a chalkboard for lots of people

Don’t really understand Jim Carry but each to their own.

Will Ferrell? Well each to their own but I don’t think there’s an actor if I just want to watch something that I can laugh at without having to think about, that I like more.
His cameo in Wedding Crashers could be the best 5-10 minutes in film history as far as comedy goes. ‘What the F*K do YOU want?’ *pulls nunchucks tight

Footscray and Spotswoid hey? Worthy of the hate then

That is amazing

George Clooney, he's always just George Clooney no matter what he is in, brings very little to the table.
In the same contradictory breath however I will say that Tom Cruise is awesome because he is always Tom Cruise, and yes he's a massive dick but he's Tom f@#$@$g Cruise.

Helena Bonham Carter, eccentric and quirky roles or just annoying and borderline cringe.

Two separate race-based assaults two years apart, didn't apologise until 15 years later when he was seeking a pardon, another assault four years after those, said 9/11 wouldn't have happened if he had been on board, now making an 'anti woke' studio with renowned lovely fellow Mel Gibson. Seems like a complete a-hole.

As I said, if you are judging someone on something they did as a teenager - which was what was mentioned in the initial article posted, it doesn’t seem an especially fair criteria for assessing anyone’s character.

What happens as they get older would be much more in line with common sense

I see your George Clooney and raise you Hugh Grant, who plays Hugh Grant in every movie he can
