We have more ex players playing else where than any other club.
You should have done at least a bit of research before making a statement like that, and saved yourself some embarrassment. We've lost quite a few, but even the likes of Hawthorn and Sydney have lost more.

Players "lost" to another club* - in AFL 2015:-
Ade - 10 (2)
Bri - 13 (1)
Carl - 10
Coll - 10 (2)
Ess - 5 (2)
Fre - 5
Geel - 10 (2)
GC - 5
GWS - 14
Haw - 11 (2)
Mel - 11
NM - 7
PA - 6 (2)
Rich - 6
SK - 9 (1)
Syd - 12 (5)
WC - 5
WB - 13

AFL - 162 (19)

* First number counts players who played AFL with "losing club". Number in brackets counts players who did not play AFL with "losing club" (e.g. Coll - Ceglar & Podsiadly).

If you're going to name them name them all. Losing them hasn't improved us has it.

Harry
H.Shaw
R.shaw
Wellingham
Ceglar
Stanley
Thomas
Dawes
Beams
Paine
Scotland
McCarthy (RIP) would still be playing.
Since you said "If you're going to name them name them all" - C. Wood and Podsiadly belong on the list. Also, Scotland is no longer on an AFL list so no point in mentioning him.

D. Beams
Paine
D. Thomas
C. Wood
D. Stanley
H. Shaw
Dawes
Lumumba
R. Shaw
Wellingham

Podsiadly
Ceglar

Wood and Pods weren't directly traded from us.

Of course not, but they were on our list once upon a time and since you're lamenting the loss of so many of our ex-players I included them for the sake of being thorough!

Beams is the only one I would definitely still want at the club. H. Shaw certainly has the talent but they needed to get rid of him due to the off field stuff, Wellingham has absolutely gone backwards etc. Then look at Hawthorn who have lost the likes of Franklin, Josh P. Kennedy and McPharlin. It happens to all clubs.

H.Shaw should still be at Collingwood. He will play well in to his 30s like his brother and uncle. He is black and white through and through. Once he left the heart of the team left. Beams would probably still be there if Shaw was there.

Heath will always be one of my all time favourite Collingwood players and I'm very sad he's no longer there, but clearly his behaviour had become so bad they couldn't justify keeping him. Also, it seems he's still having off-field issues.

We had started to slide downhill in 2013 while Shaw was still there so I don't believe his leaving should be blamed too much at all. We might have another year or two where we struggle but the young talent we have coming along gives us a great chance of moving up the ladder and challenging in the near future.

Naught. I am just trying to make the point that Thatsgold should back up the negative leaning "facts" with some reasoning.

I think we did pretty good out of these players leaving

D. Beams - Greenwood, De Goey, Crisp
Paine - hahahaha
D. Thomas - Freeman?
C. Wood - why is his name even here?
D. Stanley - couldn't perform at his age at Collingwood.
H. Shaw - Taylor Adams
Dawes - Trampoline hands at Collingwood
Lumumba - Varcoe, and the players are all allowed to have their sense of humour around the club again.
R. Shaw - Malthouses fault... Malthouses fault.
Wellingham - Brodie Grundy?

Podsiadly - 10 years later...
Ceglar - Couldn't perform in the pies vfl

Yeah, I suppose we could have kept Thomas and paid him 600k-700k per year even though his body is absolutely stuffed and he's now just a hard working battler! Could have kept Dawes even though he hasn't had a kick in years. We got pick 20 out of Melbourne for him and used it on Broomhead. Even the Negative Ned's around here should be able to see we gained from Dawes leaving.

I do wish Beams was still there but the deal we got from him leaving appears to be a fantastic one. There's just no point in worrying too much about players who have gone, especially when you can do such good deals to replace them.

Got to wonder why they are so unhappy to be Collingwood players and why the fall out continues. Bigger issue, but the fans will continue to make excuses for them leaving and listen to the bullshit reasons they spin.

We probably hired the masters of spin (The LNP Coalition) to get the message out i.e. lies, deceit etc. There will always be some who believe everything they are told. Some would even believe pigs fly if the club told them that.

It is only natural for supporters who love their club to believe what they are told. Have a look at Essendon supporters for example. Football opinions are usually influenced heavily by both negative and positive emotions, even yours. I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two extremes.

I think we can dismiss most trade suggestions made during the season, especially when only 4 rounds into the season. Still a lot of water to flow under the bridge before Treloar signs I think. Maybe someone got wind of him being close to signing, mentioned that we were into him to make him think twice and push it back to the end of season. Or as some others have mentioned it may just be a sneaky player manager trick looking for more coin for both parties.

FWIW I think the AFL should look at mid season transfers, maybe something along the lines of EPL. It could really help those teams that are struggling with injuries to key positions and need topping up. Would also help guys who are on the fringe like Tom Mitchell from Sydney if they get frustrated from not playing early in the season.

Would make things more interesting and some of these threads more substantial.

Mate, as frequently as we hear speculation about players moving clubs, we hear that player denying the rumours.

No player has ever come out during the season and said to the media "oh yeah, they approached me a life changing offer and I'm definitely accepting."
That's true, but I think it's a bit early for anyone to be spruiking about calling it. If you spruik about calling it now then you'll have to spruik about spruiking about it when/if it actually does happen because you've already spruiked about calling it.
