I think it was in the commentary of the 98 GF that the comment was made that Adelaide weren't a super team but they were a super September team. That has always stuck with me coz really that's the only time it matters. The cups - that's plural - CUPS are in the cupboard !
As for a dumb finals sytem , 98 they went to Perth (ROUND 22) Melb, Sydney, Melbourne and Melbourne again - no home Prelim then. I'm buggered if I know how that's easy! If anything, yesterday's result shows just how bloody hard it us to win 2 in a row.

Blighty was a shit coach... known for trying new an outragious things... a couple he pulled off coz he had a good playing list when trying it at St Kilda he was proven how over-rated he was.
