Rumour Adelaide Crows camp

When does this thread get moved to the main board for broader views and proper discussion? Absolutely beyond a rumour and scandal now.

From the absolute farcical Pyke/Burton press conference, media reports of unrest, the exodus from the club en masse and now Ellis-Yolman comes out today and says that the camp was the point that divided the club and has hurt it's culture from that point forward right up to this point today.

I know most reasonable Crows fans are calling for it, but if any and all in charge remain at Adelaide after this review it can be added to the list of farces that have occurred at that footy club for the past 2 years +.

Burton must simply go. Looks to be out of his depth and made to look like an absolute amateur in that press conference (by himself). Everything he has touched has turned to shit, even back to his time at Brisbane. Riccuitto appointed him and has become part of the back slapping, fart sniffing, boys club culture he set out to arrest. He basically shat on the fans then did it again when trying to save face. Must go. That's probably only the beginning.

CEY either didn't want to say to much or was fairly traumatized by it all. Probably both.

There was a fair bit of stumbling and trepidation in his explanation. As if the honesty wanted to burst out of him but the player media training was fighting him (my take). In the end he probably said more than he would have liked, but good for us and for everyone to hear some bloody honesty after Adelaide and their players have lied and deflected through the whole process. Probably a good lesson in all of this in terms of taking your medicine and the full fallout early, rather than endless speculation and fallout that can affect a club/playing group/supporter base over two years later, of which the latter and the general public are none the wiser of the facts as a result of cover ups and ducking the truth.

I've read Adelaide posters saying it's great they are 'cleaning out' players like Jacobs, Betts, CEY and co. Whilst some of these players are nearing the end of their career or no world beaters etc etc, make no mistake, these players are part of an exodus... choosing to leave the club and finding new homes rather easily for the most part. Why is that? It's a bloody big list and one that could be getting bigger as the trade period rolls on.

I think someone that likes to fire up a bit in the media like Jenkins finds a new home, then he night let a bit more info out.

Guys like Jacobs, Betts and CEY seem to have a bit more class about them and are likely to leave within setting fire to he Adelaide oval footbridge on the way out.

Where as old mate JJ stands, he likes to have his say. Which is at times rather refreshing but about now could get interesting.

I know this is just an excuse for the usual types to kick the Crows and they aren’t actually interested in the issue but currently Matt and Brad Crouch are on 5AA talking about it and both are saying that they really enjoyed it and believe it’ll have a positive effect on the players going forward.

I’ll let the trolls continue to pull each other off over this BS story that was designed to get attention. Not remotely surprised that it’s Port and Richmond supporters doing all the trolling .....must just be a coincidence.
As you can see it wasn't a troll, it's panned out as most posters thought. The Crouch brothers want out, Eddie and the others and coach sacked, now Ellis Yeoman is saying the camp ruined the culture.

I'm keen for them to spill as much as they can. Then hopefully the club will admit it f’ed up and sack those responsible.

most crows fans I’ve spoken to echo your thoughts. If it’s any comfort no matter how much disarray your club might be in you’re still not the biggest disgrace this decade. Up the dons haha

Loved this morning on trade radio when they played a grab of CEY talking about it, then went back to the studio and Sam Maclure gasped and said it "makes him sick." Was very dramatic.

I'd love to know exactly what went on though.

As soon as Jenkins gets his contract shifted from Adelaide, expect him to be negotiating with any media outlet that will further his next wanted career.

Has anything come of the review that
was being chaired by Jason Dunstall?
If Burton is as awful as he would appear from the outside he’s not the type to hold any punches is his opinion I would think.

Knowing our close links to Hawks through Fagan, Mathews and Hodge, I'd expect word would filter through to Dunstall about Burton and the injuries we had during his time at the Lions..

By the sounds of it, it's not unclassy to speak out about it. The players don't deserve to cop the brunt of criticism.

Its a 50/50 proposition. You just need to figure out which part of the 50/50 you are on

A coke bottle only has two ways in my friend.

It's not about whether someone can make up a story to fill in the blanks; either tell the actual story or don't bother posting nonsense.

It's interesting. Crows cracked it over this camp, yet most clubs have similar camps for team building

Team Building. Yes. Been done in various forms for decades informally and formally. Venturing into psychological areas of grief without a qualified psychologist present, paying complete disregard and lack of knowledge and respect to indigenous cultural beliefs and your own medical staff not giving any approval to such activities? Absolutely not. Wouldn’t be permitted in any work place, why a football club?

Nothing wrong with telling the truth.........surely if things have turned pear-shaped because of this camp, you'd want to know about it?

It is your club after all, no fans, no club.
