Will they have the names of the 5 footballers on the eastern stand as well do you think?
Ok cool, I thought they may have been naming it in sections like they did on the Western Grandstand.

It's been decided. Riccutto, Oatey, Wanganeen, Williams and the undeserving Basheer.

There aren't really any sections to name, unless you go for seating levels.
I won't bother highlighting what I think of his administration, judgement or decision making during his reign as you'll probably disagree, but for the simple reason that he's been against the Adelaide Oval all along.

Not sure how much of the eastern stand will be Jack Oatey but some of it will be was on ten.

It should be the whole thing. But honestly, does anyone think the SMA will have a sense of whimsy and put his name on one of the ends near a pocket seeing as he basically invented the checkside?
I'd like to think they're not all robots with bad combovers.

does any one know, that with all of the redevelopment of the Adelaide oval, the dimensions of the actual playing surface has been changed?

New dimensions will be 167m x 124m according to the Crows.

i thought it was a lot longer than that! all i remember growing up watching cricket from the Adelaide oval & the commentators always crapping on how long the straight ends where

And he wanted nothing to do with Adelaide Oval. Does not deserve to have his name on a stand.

personally I'd rather they didn't give them player names, but given that they are this lineup is so obvious it hurts.

Wouldn't be surprised if the actual fence-to-fence dimensions haven't changed since the Western Stand was built, but the goal-to-goal dimensions are shorter than (a) I expected and (b) they were for Round 24, 2011. Although, they've taken away the old bricked areas for the sight-screens, so maybe the goals will be in the same place but it will look like more space between them and the fence.

If a guy who gave nearly 50 years of service to football in SA doesn't deserve a stand named after them then who does?
Cahill and Blight are the other two most worthy names I'd say. I don't understand how they went outside those 7.
