Full text from media release said:
To coincide with this announcement, the Club’s General Manager of List and Recruiting, Adrian Dodoro, has made the decision to take a step back from his current senior role following this year’s NAB AFL National Draft. He will lead the Club through the upcoming 2023 Trade and Draft period in his current position prior to transitioning to and assisting Matt Rosa moving forward.
Dodoro, an Essendon Life Member, has played a significant role at the Bombers over nearly three decades and said the time was right to take a step back.
“I approached Craig back in April to discuss the concept of transition and I feel that now is the right time to make this decision,” Dodoro said.
"I sat on the panel to assist in the selection of Matt, and I believe he will be an outstanding acquisition to the Club for years to come. I look forward to working with Matt moving forward.
“These roles are very taxing on individuals and their families and it just feels like that. After nearly three decades and with stability in key roles at the Club, now is the right time for me to take a step back in to a role which will provide me and my family with a better work life balance.
“More immediately, we have an important few months coming up and I’m looking forward to playing my part to deliver a strong Trade and Draft period for the Club to ensure that the playing list is in a strong position for the future.”
Essendon CEO Craig Vozzo acknowledged the significant impact Dodoro has made at the Club since joining in a full-time role in 1998.
“Adrian is a highly respected Life Member of the Essendon Football Club and has made an enormous contribution to the Club and the wider AFL industry during his time in football, including assisting to navigate the Club through unprecedented and challenging periods,” Vozzo said.
“Throughout his time at the Bombers, Adrian’s commitment and passion to take the Club forward in its list management and recruiting, has been unquestionable. Some of the Champions of Essendon have been identified and selected by Adrian, and we will always be grateful for the important and enduring role he has played.
“On behalf of the entire Club, we would like to acknowledge Adrian’s selfless decision and we look forward to his ongoing contribution to the Club.
“Adrian will work with Matt to ensure a smooth hand-over and a successful transition of responsibilities.”

Tonight is basically the end of a 6 year loop.

At the end of 2017 Dodoro and the club had just made finals and had the 3rd most potent attack in the AFL.

Spent up big at the trade table, landed Smith, Saad and Stringer.

Added prime Stringer to a forward line featuring prime AA Daniher and McDonald-Tipungwuti, fit Fantasia off a break out year, and Hooker the colossus. At the time apart from Hooker the oldest of that group was 25. Not only did that forward line not completely rip the heart out of the AFL for the next 5 years, I reckon they barely played 10 games together total before completely blowing up.

He certainly wasn’t the best list manager around but the generational curse that continues to afflict the club definitely didn’t help him.

well if you're not someone into sentiment, he backed a pissweak midfield and a team that could not cover the ground.

he had weapons sure. but the sydney and west coast finals proved the maxima of that list.

calling things a 'curse' is just stupid.

He got them in the door, everything beyond that is outside his remit, it's up to S+C and high performance to bolt a tank on them and get them rock hard fit, not let criminals into the club and end with your coach attempting to off himself. If you're actually not into sentiment.

If you're into the paranormal, I like the curse option.

are you praising him for getting players in the door? well he got 44 players on the list so job done i guess.

Apparently that’s the only job of a list manager these days.

Players are a blank slate on an equal footing and it’s all up to development and culture to get the best out of them after they walk through the door.

Essendon have reached a settlement with their long-term list manager Adrian Dodoro after he lodged proceedings with the Fair Work Commission.
A hearing took place at Fair Work’s CBD offices at Exhibition Street, where Dodoro and his lawyers had lodged an s.365 application, which specifically relates to general protections dismissal, including discrimination, workplace rights and absence due to illness or injury.
Two sources close to the situation, who wished to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the proceedings, said that Essendon had offered Dodoro a six-figure payout but that Dodoro was asking for a substantially higher amount.

A three-year plan: Why the Bombers didn’t hunt anyone this trade period

“After 27 years Essendon Football Club and Adrian Dodoro have amicably parted ways,” the statement said.
Documents had been lodged with the Fair Work Commission and a hearing took place at 9am on Wednesday.
In August, club chief executive Craig Vozzo confirmed to The Age that Dodoro had stepped away from the club.
President David Barham made a small reference to Dodoro when talking about the club’s list management vision at Essendon’s Crichton Medal count in October.

“We have injected more money and resources into list management and recruiting team, and we will continue to support this critical area which is now led by Matt Rosa,” Barham said.
“We now have a detailed list management strategy to guide us, so our decision-making is strategic and well-planned, giving us the best opportunity to grow towards the sustained success that we desire.
“It’s also appropriate that I thank Adrian Dodoro for his efforts over the past two decades and wish him well. He has given long service and will always be an important part of the club’s history.”

Assuming this is true from 7News

"It has been reported that the Bombers have offered a “six-figure payout” to Dodoro but Dodoro wanted a bigger number."

You bled the club enough Dodo. Incompetence, unprecedented tenure by a long margin for someone with no success, awarded life membership, made 10m+ through EFC contacts then wanted to keep hanging around, then one final blood sucking extravaganza.

The positive, it doesn't get more final than that.
