Any of you that have the game, do the teams you play use different game styles throught a season, or does everyteam try the same thing?

I successfully tricked EB Games this morning using my little method ;)

Got it @ 9AM, been playing it ever since.

I really like the game, although the squad selection would be better in the 2005 format (lineup).

A few problems:

1. There is no free kick from kick out that goes out without being touched

2. Nearly any player can launch 80m torps if they want

3. The opposition heavily overuse the torp

I'm up to Round 3 2006 :) I like the player development thing, although no season stats are a letdown.

Apart from those, it's soooo much better than 2005. Good work FH and good work Ir Gurus!

P.S I am playing on Normal, finding it easy sometimes, hard others.

EDIT: Contested marks are bloody hard, I am not very good at marking yet :p It's a timing thing

EDIT #2: I'm going to try Hard soon, haven't yet.

EDIT #3: THE OPPOSITION STILL DON'T USE THE BENCH APART FROM INJURIES

Just completed trading and drafting.

Got offered J.Hay for McDougall and accepted.

Auto draft picked me up Shirley, Spriggs and Ries and some Rookies

Here's a massive bug I just found:

Simmed a season to see what drafts & trading were like, during trade week I got about 20 trade offers. I ignored them and went on to the delisting and draft and...

All the players the opposition wanted were gone and I had about 20 opposition players on my list!

WTF?!?!

P.S In my playing season, Smithy's buggered his knee  Just a week after kicking 4 in the NAB Cup match vs St Kilda, he is sidelined for *relief* only 2 weeks :p So he missed the Crows game and will miss the Tigers game

EDIT: In the sim season, Mark Williams won both the Coleman and Brownlow . His overall rating is now 98!?!?!?!

Yeah i bought it, it's not bad ey??

i started a season with Carlton, won the nab cup comfortably, in round 1
i was losing 41-16 with 10 minutes (game time) left in final quater when Kade Simpson kicked a goal to make it 41-22, then Fevola nailed one and it was 41-22, Then the clock went into the red zone and there was 18 minutes gone in the final quater, French won the hitout tapped it down to Murphy who just kicked it for distance, Kennedy grabbed it off the deck and aimed it at Fev from 60 out. It went over Fevola's head but also went over Nicholson's head and dribbled through for an amazing goal taking miraculous bounces. There was one minute left and i was down by 3 points and i won the ruck, down to Stevens who just chipped it into space, Simpson ran onto it but was tackled, Bizzel grabbed it and went to clear it but the kick was smothered and it fell to Kennedy this time he saw the open goal square, he went for it.. it bounced forward, forward, forward, siren. i lost 44-38... edge of seat stuff

Played my first game on hard mode. Flogged by 47 points.

A fear observations:
- You must be good at marking or your no hope(Im not flash)
- Must play possession footy if you cant take pack marks
- The opposing FF drills you.

I picked up B-Rock on the way to tafe at 8:30 so he could get his copy (I tell ya it was like christmas for him:p ) and got back to his at 2 for a squiz. Very impressed i must admit, never been keen on the AFL games since AFL 98:eek: And its got me. Much better game play the momentum helps people like me who arnt crash hot to give the you a chance and keep you interested. Kudos to Fiery_Hawk and others involved in making it. There are a few flaws like people say but who cares the gameplay is excellent. Definately going to get myself a copy.
P.S. so far Matera_goal had Mark Williams winning the brownlow and B-Rock and I just simmed a season for fun and Kent Kingsley won the Chas:eek: Bit funny that happening! Anyways great game

It is an improvement from 2005. What happened just then? Gheric was on the tightest angle, boots it into the point post.....and 'out of bounds is awarded' What is going on there?..............Sorry my bad, it's a pre season game aha..sorry for making anyone's heart beat faster than normal.

2007 is on ps2....after that next-gen. I asked him that exact question the other day in person. Pumped for the series to continue with this version being such a big hit (so far)

My main beef at the moment is the non-use of the d-pad. I'm always happier using the d-pad instead of the left analogue stick. Normally games allow both to be used...am I missing a way to change this.

Also, simmed through a season to check the trades...good to see teams not willing to trade good players...the blanked out ones are for contract reasons?

Still managed to trade Koschitske for Chaffey :D

How did Brent Guerra and Brett Montgomery get star status in season one, both before round 2? And to answer the Mark Williams with 98 points comment earlier...attribute points get awarded to the major award winners...he won the Coleman in my season and is on 93. By winning both in the other persons season, he was rated higher.
