Honestly not very confident, dogs will be treating this as their grand final. They’re basically out of finals running if they lose and I’m not sure about our form still, even though we moved the ball better against port.
That's not going to matter. We haven't fired a shot all year

So they will roll over half way through the third quarter?

You can just write Collingwood, or West Coast, or Fremantle.

Why pick a bloody adjective as your name? It’s inconsiderate and deserves derision, and addition of a preceding “The”.

Unless of course it’s Western as a noun, in the sense of cowboy movies. If it’s a football club that’s really about ugly dogs in the American west, I will accept that.
I personally prefer Footscray

This ‘outrage’ from Bevo no doubt has a bit to do with Cody Weightman being really good at getting his head in the way.

No surprise that he had a sook.

Melbourne in a canter by 38 points
There’s no chance that happens. Who is going to kick a score for us? Unless Brown turns a big corner there’ll be one avenue to goal through a ‘key forward’ in Fritsch. Midfield is a break even and Bontempelli could very well give a 30+ 3-4 goal performance.

It’s a must win for us so I don’t care how they do it, but I’d be very surprised if it was by 6 goals. Why are you so sure it’ll be in a canter?

Or... the more likely, changing things on the fly with 5 rounds to go in a season.

Do it for next year. It's a hard enough game to umpire without making it harder so far into a season.

We've beaten only Sydney and Collingwood in the top 8 and form is too erratic to match up with top 4 teams on the best of days. Maybe you're right but based on the jekyll and hyde Dogs form Im not holding my breath

Wasn’t this supposed to be a rule the AFL put in place a few years ago? Dropping for a free kick? Seems it fell away now it’s back.

And that's a good thing...

But again, changing interpretations at this particular time is stupid.

That's the issue, not that it is happening. Now there will be more inconsistencies than current at the pointy end of the season

So it’ll clearly impact the perennial duckers, which is going to piss off McCrae and Bevo.

Again, why make a rule up a few years ago and just not enforce it? The AFL is the only sport where they manage to change the rules whenever they like and expect it to be swallowed without a furore. It’s amateur how this sport is administered.

Yeah but the issue is that this has been taken to the point where players are so good at ducking for frees that it’s not really part of the game. It’s not a head high tackle because these scabs are dropping their knees for a free.

It should have been ironed out 5 years ago FFS.

Why is it a good thing?
It's a good thing that they're looking to stamp it out.

I'm a senior umpire and I have never paid those as high tackles. I'm more likely to pay holding the ball.

My point, and I suggest Beveridge's point as well, is the timing of this will make things harder on umpires and will likely lead to more inconsistencies than current.

BBB has had 15 scoring shots against The Western™️ in the three games he’s played for us versus them. Loves them.

Acid is a drug. Why am I having flashbacks about some sort of drunken poet? Curiouser and curiouser, so to speak
Fortunately they are no drugs in the AFL.

And if there were, it wouldn't be as serious as the heinous crime of checks notes going to Bali for a weekend

Our forwards are in pretty average form but their backline has been shocking as well.

Keath has been rubbish all year. Daniel is missing. I’m pretty sure I even saw Hannan down there?!

It’ll be a big midfield shoot out. We’ve got Clayton back so that’s a plus. I just hope BB finds some inspiration at the bottom of his kombucha bottle and kicks a bag.

Cody’s kicked 25 goals this year, only 4 from free kicks. Needs to lift his game 😉
