I never thought there was any reason to doubt it, but just to quell anyone's fears on here about tonight you can pretty much interpret this as confirmation we will be wearing the clash.

I don't mind the clash, but wish they would just do the blue cfc monogram instead of the weird white outline one

Yep looked better with the solid monogram.

I don't want a Pies v Blues GF, purely based on Carlton's (or AFL's) refusal to wear the white clash. Worst match up to watch (Blues v Pies is fine).

Can anyone find any examples of supporters whinging after tonight’s jumper matchup? Exactly. Carlton wore white, the sky didn’t fall in, and they had a great win. Now let’s never have another clash ever again

Harmsey 37 probably would if he still posts on big footy.

I really hope common sense prevails next weekend and Carlton wear their clash again.

Surely the Giants make the orange jumper their home from next season. Easily the best jumper they've had and they're going to play at least 3 finals in it this year.

No white stroke and its perfect
I think they need to keep white in there somewhere for their branding's sake. A subtle white drop shadow for the charcoal G could be cool?

ETA something similar to this, but with the current sized G

If the stars align we could see a Collingwood v Carlton Grand Final this year. Would the AFL allow the biggest jumper clash in the league in the biggest game of the year?
This question gets ever closer to becoming a real one. It will probably take an all-Victorian clashy Coll-Carl Grand Final for the AFL to get serious about forcing the renegade clubs (Carlton, Richmond, Essendon off the top of my head) to wear clash kits when away to Collingwood.

I'm sure discussions are already happening. Eddie in the past has indicated flexibility on this:

News Collingwood to wear white jumper in home games against Carlton (2018)

Post-2000, this is the closest example of such a matchup:

The commemorative was definitely not identical to the Pies' current change jumper, but the contrast gets a pass. It still isn't fantastic, though - & I don't think the rain, nor the shorts colours, helped. Born from the lessons from a certain Cats/Pies game in 2007, white shorts should never be worn against a team with white as a predominant jumper element.

Both sides in home shorts would work relatively well.

Considering the occasion, if the Pies and Blues face off next weekend, the preferred matchup would be Collingwood in full white w/ Carlton in full navy blue.

And yes, I agree the onus shouldn't be on the Pies as the higher seed to cooperate here. But it's not going to happen. The Blues in full white wouldn't provide great contrast anyway, and the 'we are the navy blues' line will be echoed by league powerbrokers.

The Tiges were assigned yellow in 2017, but that wasn't a big 4 matchup.

I wonder if Nike have the means to readily prepare a clash set with Ems on the front.

Unless its Carlton v GWS I hope this is the turning point for the league and clubs.
The game needs real contrast. Its broadcasted on handheld devices and thousands sit the nosebleeds.
Give your clash kit purpose (and prestige even!) as you do to your home jumpers. A shedding of egos.
Its image could last forever
