Carlton just got too far ahead of themselves too early.

At 41 pts up, they were playing expecting the ball to be heading forward, they played on the attacking side of their opponents, looking to make the break towards goal.

Then Richmond lifted, and Carlton didn't adjust until too late. By the time they did, Richmond players had gained self belief, while Carlton had gained nothing but self doubt. By that stage, the game between the ears had already been won/lost.

If anyone is to blame here, it's Carlton's coaches and senior players for letting the team lose focus when winning and not adapt properly when the tide was turning.

Game was a bit messy. Umpires need to be more lenient on paying contested marks. Would make for a much better game. A couple of clear ones were not paid, and they could pay a few more, would make the game better
Quite a few throws and deliberates ignored 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
