In: R.Hardeman, F.Maley, K.Dawson

I am just being honest how i think it could go. Its only a matter of time before your swag of top end youngsters get enough experience and games under their belt to really feel like they belong and can influence games. Clarkson is going to reap the rewards of patience on thatpart and i feel that could be this year. Add to that the experience players brought in to help and its an exciting dynamic. I could be wrong though
You're right about the bolded. We saw that with Tom Powell, Paul Curtis and Comben on the weekend.

Some years there can be very little difference between 5th and 14/15th on the ladder. It just depends on the year. So two big ifs ... If we beat you lot on the weekend and if the year is one where 12 wins gets you in the eight then we are a chance. But its pretty unlikely at this stage.

Hawthorn v GWS? I just hope we put up a fight so that last week wasn't an aberration
Adelaide are a completely different beast. Unlike Melbourne, they can score. With a defence as poor as North's that basically gives the Crows a 10-15 goal headstart if things are even across the rest of the ground.

Hard to think that this would've been an intriguing fixture a few weeks ago. North's dark days finally look to be behind them and they should be competitive (especially with their midfield) but our forwards vs their defence should get us a winning score.

Crows have been given an excellent draw and should take full advantage of it on their home deck. Kick well to the 3 headed monster up forward, and if they kick accurately then it will be a long day for the Kangas.

What does success look like for the Kangas even though Kano doesn’t like the term of a respectable loss?

1. Win the midfield contested ball on the back of big X who is the form ruck in the Comp. He has accounted for English and Gawn in the first 2 rounds.
2. Restrict the last 5 mins of each QTR and not concede silly runs of 2-3 goals.
3. Continue the forward defensive pressure of last week with the run down from behind tackles.
4. Take the game on with run and carry using Daniel/McKercher/Sheezel to feed the forwards.
5. Tag Jordan Dawson who is on fire and keep him quiet. He is the general out there and this would be a win to curb his influence.
6. No dropping heads and arms on hips when it gets tough.

Trying not to get carried away after the Melbourne shellacking. This is clearly a big challenge, I really just want to see a competitive performance. If they get on a run of 3-4 goals and we adjust and stop them, we'll know the club has really turned the corner. I can cope with a loss as long as it's not the type of embarrassing loss we've seen far too many of in recent years, but looking at the circumstances: we've never won at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide have an extra day's rest, they're absolutely red hot and will be looking to keep their run going against a side that hasn't troubled them for years. Though the backline was very good against Melbourne it's still well below strength with Archer and Logue out, and Adelaide's forward line is a massive strength. Signs of a big loss. Not accepting mediocrity but a small loss in these circumstances would show progress.

I think we can beat them in the midfield if X dominates and we get the structures and defensive running right. They've got us beat for outside run, but I think we have the inside advantage with LDU and Powell in hot form, and Xerri probably beats O'Brien comfortably. Sheezel is going to have to impact the game a bit more than he has been and McKercher will need to hit some of the targets he's been missing if we're to have a hope.

You'd think based on performances so far that this will be a shootout. Larkey and Fogarty are sitting 1 and 2 in the coleman and Curtis, Rachele, Thilthorpe and Zurhaar all have 5 goals or more to their names.
Adelaide’s midfield has improved markedly since the teams last played.
North has also recruited well.
Should be a good game.
