Players also keep running backwards, and doing a turn without going backwards is impossible
Yeah, found this too. Seems to be a part of the players-on-rails issues.

Similarly, I have also found that in this and for all previous AFL games… players approach a marking contest (when running with the flight) so casually and slowly. Would rather they get into position quickly..or at least let me be in control of how quickly they get there!

I will say this though… on the odd occasion in this game, it’s felt great charging through with a spoil from behind. Like a desperate defender, running off his man to spoil the opposition.

Putting it out there but the specialty set shot kicks on the boundary look so smooth and feel rewarding when you master the angles to use!! The checkside animation alone is so good!
The goal kicking and some of the general kicking animations around the ground look superb. Some of the flow in play can look terrific as well. I am really hopeful they can get the game to a point where it reaches its potential.

Oh the crashes are killing me right now. Just won 37-36 with a goal after the siren and boom game crashed. Sucks having to do it all again
The crashes are so frustrating. You think you're getting a good run at the game and it drops out of nowhere. I can't even pinpoint if there's a trigger for it.

Is there still crashes for ps5 after the patch?
Yep.

I think everyone predicted a pisspoor launch, but not to the scale of what transpired. That's new, even for Big Ant.
It's not, again AO Tennis was that bad when it first came out. Unplayable.

Did the tackling, change player and player movement (where sprinting doesn't work as it should, turning directions battles etc) persist in online?
yep could definitely tackle all ok online.
change player was better but still needs further improvment i reckon.

Yep.

Okay thanks, I won’t be playing till they fix the crashes it’s rather pointless playing if you have to play the same game over and over again.

Haha trust me that Cricket launch was god awful, the game would crash if you were just sitting/browsing around in the menus. At least here I can get through a game or two.

I know fool me twice is shame on me, but I'm not sure a fool me thrice was ever anticipated until AFL 23.

Way to much from Huddo, if he spoke half as much I think that would be a good balance
The actual commentary is the best we have had apart from that.

I think the commentary would’ve been good if we had two play by play callers plus an analyst. Hearing huddo nonstop is tiresome. Also agree with others calls that the amount of commentary needs to be decreased for a better feel.

AFLW commentary with Jason Bennett is much better than Huddo, there is less yelling and there isn't constant talking.

I'm surprised since this is his first time being in an AFL game while Huddo has done it before. Maybe Bennett just treated it like his normal commentary because that's what it sounds like while for Huddo it seems like he is trying to make everything exciting hence the yelling

Is this the sort of standard we should expect? What’s the point of buying a title at launch then?

I agree, I would never buy a Big Ant game at launch again after AO Tennis
