Why am I starting to think we wont be seeing any "road map" or patch today?

A bit of clarity would be nice.
Clarity would be great, but I'd rather them take their time with these patches to ensure they get it right this time.

Played my first game with Collingwood on PS4
Before the game I looked at the player stats and it had Elliott as a better tackler then Beau (Probably Champion Data's fault but still)
Will say most of the Pies scans are pretty good with hair and facial being outta date which makes sense due to them being scanned a while ago
Will also say the guernsey selection and venue selection are better then any afl game before.

Gameplay Pros:
The AI opponents had a few errors but were pretty decent for the most part
Kicking is a pretty well done feature (Minus one component)
Them putting in the gold coast trumpets is a pretty cool feature
The cutscenes are a nice little addition
Some segments of play when going from HB to FF feel really rewarding

Gameplay Cons:
Commentary still needs work (But it always has)
The protected area still doesn't exist for AI
Shanking torps inside D50 go backwards
No stats is annoying
AI teammates feel like they're playing against you
Goalkicking is too easy.
Tackling is non-existant for the user
Marking is too easy also, there are 0 drops even in a contested marking situation.

All in All not horrible but patches are still VERY much needed

Also upon playing today, the radar is still inverted at times. Hopefully the next patch will get the bug, although i can live without the radar it other more important areas are fixed first

On twitter they're saying the game is broken yet on facebook they're announcing its out now and ready to go.

Afl and video games have always been amateur hour. It's literally like your mum and dad trying to be cool and saying they are on fb or Instagram, when in reality they are just embarrassing themselves with each post they do.

I'm sure im not the only person. Just finished my first game on the quick match mode and the game took forever to load back to the main screen after the match and then eventually crashed.

Exactly.. if BA release a patch now, Sony probably won't approval until 3-5am again haha.
Maybe…Probably….
Sony have, or at least they did have, an avenue for devs to get smaller patches and fixes rushed through, bypassing testing etc.. depending on what the patch is for to speed up the process for exactly these type of situations. But you are right, it did take a while yesterday.

People have every right to question the legitimacy of what content creators say, they aren't exactly the most reliable asset in these scenarios, plenty of greedy people that will lie through their teeth for their own financial gain and general exposure.
100% agree, you have to take everything with a grain of salt and question everything with a healthy degree of skepticism. Opinions are easily manipulated, especially in this space, so you have to question the legitimacy of things and weigh up what is likely. But doing that, in my mind at least, the version where Michaels' account is true is by far the most likely.

Michaels', and the other content creators', version of events is that they played a fun, yet still flawed game with things that needed to be fixed and suggestions they'd passed on. It had a range of features that they played with that didn't feature in the launch version of the game, leading them to reason that something has clearly gone wrong between then and now, but leaving them more positive about what is possible with some fixes.

The alternative perspective is that Big Ant paid off / manipulated / threatened three content creators of varying sizes, got them to come in, and gave them the broken mess we have now. They then told them that they would need to heavily edit all of the flaws out of their videos (side note, if you've played this game, these issues don't just get edited out of a video - they are constant and obvious) while still somehow having continuous footage. They would also need to lie about these specific features that they weren't planning on including, and when the game launched, they would need to stay up late doing streams and act surprised when the game didn't function.

I suppose a less extreme version is that, yes, the game broke between then and now, but the features weren't actually available and just that part is a lie. That is somewhat more reasonable, but the question that comes of that is why bother? There is really no incentive for the creators to lie about some stats and a game mode unless BA have incentivised them - in which case, is the value in falsely saying, "Lol game broke on launch, we'll get this content to you soon," really so much higher than saying, "Due to XYZ we haven't put the finishing touches on this content, we'll patch it in soon," (which, I remind you, they already did with player career) that they would pay three people off to stick to that line?

Is either the second or third option really more likely than the first? Is that really where critical reasoning gets you?

Look, none of this is intended to defend or side with BA. I am sure things have happened that are out of their control, but irrespective of the reasons, the launch is totally unacceptable and I have trouble believing the volume of the string of issues and miscommunications is possible without some pretty decent missteps on their end. It is just kinda mind numbing to see any reasonable statement tossed out in favour of some extraordinary sequence of events.

You really think that's a good idea given ... everything?
