Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Handballing and tackling have improved. Still some way to go though.

Coaches are fixed.

Crowd is bigger but I’m in play now so still not packed.

Difficulty doesn’t seem to have changed.

Keen to see how it goes over the next week.

The "appreciate your patience" bit got me thinking. Have they apologised at any point for this?

Usually PR teams will leave out an apology if they feel their company has done nothing wrong, which would be odd in this case obviously lol

Then again they may have done so and I've missed it.

There are limitations on what you can say when you are a publicly listed company. I would assume this is the reason.

It's broken, sometimes the player doesn't even move when you're telling them to move in a certain direction. Biggest issue.

Definitely my biggest issue.
Think it’ll help the flow significantly when fixed.

Try holding R1 while attempting a tackle. Keep sprinting too.

You can't rush at opposition players to lay a tackle if you can't move in the direction you want to go.

It's been confirmed that Sony has to approve it themselves, which only usually happens overnight in Aus given the timezones. Steam is essentially an automatic process for patches.

Dannnnnnnnnn by any chance could you acknowledge this in your pinned post, in seems to be a pretty frequent question.

I’m on PS5 and don’t have the patch either. I think it’ll roll through at around 2-3am similar to last night. I’m glad the ball is rolling now on patches and updates, hopefully in 7 days time we’re all in a far better spot and really enjoying the game with minimal flaws
