Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

It sucks that the best mode in the game currently can barely play a whole game before a crash. Only way I’ve been able to play using Cotchin and Baker is management career

It is with great sadness we declare the death of the extremely young big ant game.. the game struggled to breath at birth and has been on life support for the past 48 hours… unfortunately the doctors did all they could to help it pull through but sadly AFL23 passed at 5:10pm this afternoon as we decided to pull the plug and end it’s suffering! Please pay respects

Marking makes no sense.

I've found if you don't sprint then tackling/handballing and marking do work, although I've got questions how the bounce/ruck work.

There will be a patch for PC today, the focus is on stability. There will be another tomorrow with the focus being on gameplay.

Console will get these updates on Monday.

The reasoning is that we cannot guarantee that consoles will get the patches through in a reasonable timeframe, and if we have further patch issues, we can't fix in less than 24 hours, with Steam we can roll-back a patch pretty quickly.

We also want to get advanced feedback while we introduce the AFL23 feature list over the coming week - if you are on Steam and would like to participate in patches before they go live to the public and can give us feedback on them to help shape the game, then please DM JNT BA.

I assume the fact he’s discussing adding features on means you must be confident about rectifying all the gameplay issues soon
