STATE OF PLAY:
  • The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
  • Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
  • Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
  • This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
  • Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

can i please ask a question about how the ruck/bounce is meant to work?

I push the right stick and i can never win it.

Im playing on hard difficulty (on ps4) manager career atm. initially had trouble with the ruck contests. I started to decide where was I was going to tap and it waited for the vibrate of the control. Once that happened I move and hold the right stick to where I want the tap.

My last game I played against Carlton and won 31 hit outs to 10.

Balanced Tackles while sprinting
Improved Movement
Improved AI Loose Ball Chase
Improved AI Decision Making in Marking Contests (Spoil)
Improved Handball/Kick Mechanic while Tackled
Improved Stat Summaries, Player Stats added to summary screen
Improved Brownlow and Rising Star vote system
Improved Cut Scenes to correct player/coach/umpire (in progress)
Improved grapple animations in boundary throwins
Improved Stability

Introduced issues:
Congestion

Gameplay patch focus for tomorrow, apart from feature additions:
Ruck Clearance - tuning so that finding a target from the ruck and getting super clean hitouts is balanced
AI Congestion - too many players pulled around the ball
Tackles desync - animations not matching up and then strange ball disposals
Movement Improvement - turning rates for sprint and improved acceleration

Consoles shall receive all of the above in a patch on Monday evening.

Sooo is this patch out yet? Still no updates for me on Steam....
 
Can someone tell me from the patch notes what it means when it’s says Introduced congestion. Is that something they wanted, or a problem?
If you look at what Ross says
We are working on multiple patches at the same time, and bringing things in as we make sure the game does not become further unbalanced.

Tonight is an example, we've introduced too much congestion but think the things added are worth it for the short term.
It’s a problem that’s been introduced to get some of the things into the game (tackling better) but something they can fix later.

It’s probably that there is more congestion than they want
We haven't re-introduced tackling while sprinting as when testing today it made the game too congested.

We will likely re-introduce both tackling while sprinting (risk reward/push in back etc.) and AI spoiling in tomorrow's Steam patch.

Everything has to come back in with balance, we can't just throw it back in or we'll be back at square one.

In all seriousness, if you don't like the game, return it and don't play it. Game purchases are set up to make this very easy - digital or physical. Your choice.
Let the bad karma go and do something that will actually make you happy. Hopefully 3.20pm Sunday is it.
I haven't bought the game and I don't plan to until there is actually a game to buy. I'm not that easy to scam but Ross certainly thinks the general video game public are.
 
Sharing an issue with the gameplay (that I've physically played myself) is vastly different from wanting BigAnts blood but by all means continue saying derp things.

It's a patchable issue which I'll wait for without getting my pitchfork and torch.

I think the team have responded immaculately, as stated before. I personally cannot wait to see this game back on track and despite the glitches we’ve all experienced, I have no doubt all will be rectified.

Again massive thank you to you and the team for this game even existing in the first place.
Except for xbox players being totally treated like mushrooms, fed sh!t and left in the dark.

Look at it this way - by the time Xbox comes out you wouldn't be waiting for patches

True that, at this point I've gone over the 2hr Steam refund window (game crashing every 10 mins on launch day helping to edge me over) so I'm just here to enjoy ride wherever it goes and however long it takes

Steam aren't super strict about that. I've definitely refunded games where I've gone over, I think if you have a proven track record of not abusing the system and buying games then they are pretty good at giving you a small allowance. I reckon I've had a 4-5hr game refunded before, but purchased within the last week.

I like this idea. I'd also like the chance to adapt the banner sleeves and taping patterns. And perhaps ability not to have a banner for custom teams. (Maybe it could be a pre-game option or something)
I still find it weird that there are no people holding the banners in game. I can assure you from personal experience that they definitely don't stand up on their own ;)
 
Played a bit more now. I actually think the player turning issue/stuck on the rails behaviour would be fine, IF tackling was more like the FIFA model. So you can back away without getting tackled, and if a tackle lunge is made you can dodge it, but if not you get coralled and your disposal is impeded. I reckon that would be a great feature and a really cool way to revamp tackling.

Kind of like how in FIFA you only tackle the opposition when you have them cold, if they are in slightly the wrong position and you lunge they can get past you and get through. I feel like maybe this was the intention of that 'stickiness' turning around, just hasn't been implemented in conjunction with the defensive component? If it was I reckon it would really enhance the realism.
 
Thanks for the messages about interest in getting Steam patch access to give additional feedback. Additional input is always welcome. I'll get replies out to them tomorrow.

On a side note, I did a whole bunch of online games against people today on PC I really hope at least one person was from here. Some of y'all are really good.

Can you look into the output monitor settings? It just reverts after you switch screens. Appreciate it.
