STATE OF PLAY:
  • The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
  • Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
  • Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
  • This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
  • Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Twice today on ps5 during the 4th quarter the commentary has gone silent and they've left early to beat the traffic, followed by the game freezing after a couple minutes
If the commentary goes dead, the game will crash. Might as well just quit while your ahead and start over...

Played my first game post patch and it seemed like all was going relatively well. Dons vs Cats to exact my revenge from a couple of weeks ago
Then it happened. The AI made a change on the field ! Ratugolea got moved from FB to… Rover
Then the game crashed
So yeah, game is still ass
 
The AI seemingly hates set shots unless they're only 30 metres out. So many times they'll play on and/or kick it straight into the player on the mark.

This game is impossible since the patch. I'm getting belted by North Melbourne on easiest in my Geelong season. Bizarre.

Not only can I still not win a single centre bounce hitout, now I can't win a marking contest, barely any spoils, and the AI are on me like white on rice and I'm pinged for HTB every second possession. Strangely, I was enjoying the free, open play of the game on patch 1.05 and now it is a tacklefest.

Where it was very buggy pre-1.06, I honestly found it fast and more exciting. I would not say the current version is close to resembling fun. There's no refuge either, as easiest difficulty was a massacre.

BigAntStudios is this a known thing that's being worked on or intended?

Notes after PS patch:
  • Played online - search failed multiple times and the two games that actually did get found crashed (one early, one in 3rd qtr)
  • Still having the AI tackling despite seemingly being 10m away from my player
  • There are instances where I mark the ball but the game just takes advantage for me and I get tackled HTB
  • There are also instances where moving the player taking the kick in results in a kick OOTF
  • Also there are the 50m handballs still which go out of bounds in the opposite direction to where I am directing them
  • Still not really sure what the timing mechanics are for marking/spoiling and hit outs - seems to be very random

I had a 3 goal lead on easiest before North kicked the next 5 to win. Finding the time to kick impossible, handballing is terrible. Marking isn't easy and then the odd mark you do get is called play on and you're done for holding the ball
 
I too hate it when people ask for features that where promised at launch
We were promised an AFL game. If they can’t even get right, what’s the point of the rest that they haven’t delivered on?

Cool, let’s create teams and stadiums even if you can’t actually make use of them. Let’s get the basics right before worrying about everything else!

Playing on PC, Actually finding the game and marking too easy.

The first couple of games i played yesterday were extremely difficult, but since then it's like the difficulty has suddenly gotten easier

Just had a game after work, the clearance hand pass and kick are great to create space.

Once the teleport tackling is sorted, will be a lot of fun. So many times I want to bang it on the boot and I get caught holding the ball from 5 metres away.
 
Why does huddo saying Goldstein's name sound so different from all the others. Sounds like it was recorded from another room or something lol. Only noticed it with him
I noticed it when I was getting belted on easiest against North and he won every single centre bounce and throw in ruck contest. Sounds so muffled.
 
In the tweet big ant put out last night they said we would get logo & guernsey creator yet with the update it’s not to be found (ps5)

Appreciate the updates and have been following each patch closely to see if there’s any improvement or plan to fix up handball receives/run & carry?

Just gave the latest PS5 version a go and not sure it’s playable until this part of the game is adjusted. Perfect example here where I have 4 players completely out and get done holding the ball. Would love to be able to run & carry with these players, whereas Viney, then Bowey are completely stuck in the mud on receive and I can’t move
 
can anyone explain the set shot to me? I can't seem to kick it from 50 with any of my players even tho they should be able to....what am i doing wrong?
 
One issue I have - which I hope tactics will fix - is even on easiest, the opposition players are always unmarked and if they get the ball have a pretty clean passage into the F50. Meanwhile when my players have the ball, it is infinitely harder to find guys in space (or even accurately select a player with the passing function). I don't mind it being hard, but the opposition really shouldn't spread 100 times better than your own teams AI.
 
Why does management mode keep on crashing? I've tried to play 2 games and on both occasions it crashes but it never does in a normal match. Also for me at least I can still beat the AI, I just can't thrash them and I don't find them impossible. It's just how I make mistakes due to animation errors, tackles, and handballs not working. Also now the AI feel too fast compared to when I have the ball
