Yeah its not Robinson Crusoe in today's climate of deploy as fast as possible and fix along the way, unfortunately. They probably could have communicated it a bit better is all.

Correct, just a bit of communication would have done wonders to not have us all nipping at their ankles asking for clarification.

Nacon is pretty big.

Then they should have played hardball with Microsoft over THAT issue!

Given they explicitly said EA is their competition, not WW, they ask to be held to that standard. This game right now is WW level. Not even close to EA.

Totally and it's more pumping up their own tyres trying to put themselves on the level of AAA developers, when they're not.

Big Ant stretched themselves thin by working on not 2, not 3, but 4 different sports games at the same time (Cricket, Rugby and Tennis + this). It is entirely their fault.

Correct they shot themselves in the foot. The promotion and marketing has been one big calamity.

They're in over their heads you mean

Looks like we are getting two patches early on ps4, adding up to 21gigabyte. Id hope one of these is for gameplay, and the other is for pro team. The only thing that can
save this game is a good pro team, and fixed movement, bugs aren’t that much of a hassle early, unless they completely ruin the game

I'm definitely not on any dog in this fight, but based on this screenshot the 30th march update hasn't pushed through? So potentially could be 5+ weeks old the build everyone is playing?

Am not saying this to defend big ant, but hopefully like everyone here except a couple who seem to be hoping the game is shit, I want a good, fun AFL game. If this is the case, we might just be a chance of getting one.

Notwithstanding it isn't good enough from Big Ant regardless.

No but he obviously has some input into improving the game. Otherwise what notes was he taking to pass on?
You don't know people's situations. Maybe he's commuting to work and found time to get on here.

The fact people so readily jump to be negative or accusatory is such a strange mindset to me.

I'm 100% behind constructive criticism and it looks very much like this game is going to need a fair bit of that to be fixed up, but I detest the tone of a lot of commenters on here and the joy they seem to take at something's shortcomings.

I also think Big Ant will have some learnings moving forward when it comes to interaction with their community. The fact they've stooped to the level of some of the people on this thread on occasion is a poor look and has welcomed some of what we see this morning. Might be better off drastically reducing their interaction moving forward, while improving communication via formal announcements on what is and isn't included in their games.

When a game company has so much arrogance and contempt for their customers and release garbage quality products they deserve to be burnt to the ground
Woah woah. Burnt to the ground? You can’t be serious. Abit OTT mate.
It’s funny you say all this stuff about big ant and then get annoyed/complain when you don’t get a response from them. You reap what you sow dude.

Let’s all calm the farm guys..

I could live with big ant and Ross simply apologising to their consumers, instead we get this passive aggressive bullshit.

Neither do you. But continue to criticise others for criticising.

Edit: Also BA haven't learnt anything as this release has gone exactly the same way as all their others have.

I still don't understand if the day 1 patch issues are that the patch isn't downloadable yet or the patch was downloaded but broke a lot of shit

JB guy told me while I was collecting that every man, woman and their dog was wanting the game ATM so I can certainly believe pre orders were high.

Here's hoping for that speedy patch...

So, the lesson is don't jump to conclusions? Thanks for proving me right.

No the lesson is don't have a sook at others if you're going to do exactly what you're bemoaning about them doing. :)

I think everyone wants BigAnt to succeed because that means we get a better AFL game. It’s just the communication which needed some tidying.
