STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Thanks. It's mostly me venting a bit about my disappointment at the current state of the game and playing up the hyperbole you'd see online and on this tread at times as a bit of a joke. It's a very bad launch but I'm hoping they fix things. If they could turn AO Tennis and Cricket 22 into something playable, They should be able to turn this into a playable game... Hopefully...

Just kinda tired of Big Ant's bad launches... You'd think they'd have learned from AO Tennis and Cricket 22.

Doesn't look like it. Either the incorrect patch is released or the patch hasn't been made public yet and we are using a patch that's just got security fixes to load the menu - remember Ross said people won't be able to load the game if they received it earlier.

The blocked version to stop people loading it before release (most likely version 1.000.001) and to allow the menu to load - which is what everyone seems to have (most likely version 1.000.002). The first official day 1 patch must be 1.001.000, just a guess but the version number doesn't seem right for a day 1 patch.

That's all logical, however the inexcusable lack of communication means we can't really just assume this is the case

We've probably averaged about one every two years since IR Gurus made their first. And that's excluding shite like Mascot Manor or GOTY (lol) editions.

If its anything like previous games when you let go of the sprint button it will bounce.

To put it bluntly, the state of AFL 23 is nothing short of abysmal. From the moment the game launched, it was clear that it was riddled with bugs and glitches. Despite numerous complaints from players, Bigants refused to acknowledge or confirm the existence of these issues, leaving many frustrated and angry. The game's graphics are lackluster, the gameplay is repetitive and uninspired, and the overall experience feels unfinished and rushed.

But what's even more disappointing than the game itself is Bigants' appalling PR tactics. They insulted and belittled customers who asked about missing features, refused to confirm or deny the existence of bugs even after the game launched, and lied to customers about upcoming updates and fixes. Their communication with players has been nothing short of infantile and unprofessional.

In short, Bigants has shown a complete lack of respect for their customers and a disregard for the quality of their product. It's clear that they prioritize profits over player satisfaction, and their actions have left a sour taste in the mouths of many AFL fans. I cannot recommend this game or this company to anyone.

I would be more sympathetic to BA if Ross wasn’t an arseh*le to the opposition. Obviously thinks he can do better with the game. But how about a working game and then it’s a free for all if that’s the style of communication preferred. Because right now we’ve got somewhat mainstream media absolutely tearing down this game right now. Which could’ve been released in early April

Also interesting to see nothing from the offical AFL page after they posted the trailers and first delay. Letting people know the game is out would be helpful. Even they want to hide it
