Given that somehow players are injured that aren’t even in the subs or starting lineup and are still racking up season averages in their stats I’m assuming there should be a training option or are they playing in an imaginary vfl that doesn’t exist yet? I’ve got no clue.

Were they making it sound better and have more depth than the blurb then what was actually expected. Only BA can answer cause i and everyone else unless your a dev have no clue.

Since tactics came into PS5 it’s played the best I’ve seen. Haven’t had random players standing inbetween the player with the ball and the man on the mark and everyone appears to be doing their assigned role.

My burning question is what else is coming to management mode. It’s all I want the answers for, I’d be happy with gameplay staying as is.

We need to support this game.
Some of you don’t get it. It’s a passion project for BA and they are spending to develop it to a higher standard. Yes, there have been gameplay issues, but it’s something they will continue to fix over time.

If that’s in regards to my question then have a look back at the rest of my comments and replies. I’ve been nothing but supportive. In fact I said the other the version we have on ps4 at the moment is the best it’s been since launch, I almost don’t want an update in the fear it might regress back a few steps as that has happened with a few of the patches.

Back to my latest comment. It is a general question as the summary of the game specifically management career can be taken as simply as it’s written or it can also lead to a much more feature driven mode. Only BA can tell if more features were planned or are looking at being introduced after they got gameplay where they want it.

I’ve been a massive BA supporter even post-release and am not one to take pot shots at Ross or the staff for all their hard work in fixing the issues we have trying to play the game. I want to see it in its best state and sometimes (including and especially last night) Ross seemed way more preoccupied on lowering himself to having a pissing contest with some on here as opposed to providing insight on whatever he can share in terms of patches/bugs.

I've just had a quick game where both happened in the same quarter and both were called out. I'm assuming the "holding the ball" was from the umpire as it sounded like the same voice and volume of the umpire that says "play on" after a mark.

The weird one was the "push in the back call" it was a female voice - wondering if it's a female umpire that's been canned somewhere in production ? or a commentary line (by Daisy ?) that should have been scrubbed from the game but wasn't ?

Again I’ll admit you’re right.
Despite being on his side last night, thinking back that time could have been better spent answering the big questions.
I get there is some things he probably can’t answer and that’s fair but give the people something.
Give us some hope and the positive posters will stay and the negative ones might stop shitting on your game.

I think you and I are on a similar wavelength mate.
But a few answers last night as opposed to pouring gasoline on the fire would have been a better idea.
If you have the time to be on the thread, at least use it productively.
I’d love to know if we can expect more on management mode for a start, I don’t even care when, just if I can look forward to it.

For everyone (including myself) this is the only blurb I can find about AFL 23 management mode. JB, EB, steam etc all have the same description.

Question: what else are we expecting from management career. That blurb to me at least sounds exactly as what is included so far. I take that as management mode as we have it is it, it doesn’t read as there will be more bits and pieces to come.

I’m happy to be proven incorrect though.

I don’t recall hearing this at all. I’ll listen closer tomorrow when I get on.

Yeh that might be happening, but your not overseeing player development as the cover suggests. It's all randomised.

Question for BA/Ross if he has a read through tonight. You’ve mentioned with the crashing if you do the same thing that caused it to crash last time it’ll happen again.

With that comment i was playing manager career last night, the first crash happened last night. I can’t actually remember how long it’s been since I’ve had one happen which is great and kudos as some work has clearly been done on stability..

My question is though: I obviously now have to re play the match that crashed. Would I be right in thinking if I re play that match no matter what I do it’ll crash? Is it best to just simulate that match and move onto the next one?

I don’t know if that is a stupid question or not but yeah any help would be great, cause if that’s the case I won’t bother repeating the match just to be annoyed I knew the inevitable would happen.

Yep and that’s what I am trying to figure out with my question. Why is it randomised, is there something they are going to bring in that should already be in there? So many questions, so little answers.

I actually got my first ‘in the back’ free last night
Animation was pretty cool but also pretty slow
I actually thought it was a glitch at first and that my player just went to ground but then I realised what had happened

This this right here is exactly it.

A lot people in here rightly or wrongly criticise the game (with attitude) whilst at the same time, making fun of the game and also make fun at Ross (ie: a few posts above). Now whether or not you think, a lot of what Ross gets from some people here, is entirely deserved is irrelevant. The problem is alot the people criticising (with attitude) and poking fun at the game and Ross are usually the same people complaining that Ross isn’t answering their questions or that not enough of the questions they want answered are being answered. I mean hello, you want answers maybe treat Ross how you want to be treated and Ross might treat in kind. It’s not like Ross is ignoring everyone and isn’t answering questions. If he ain’t answering yours then maybe, just maybe that says something about you more that it does Ross.
Yes I get Ross hasn’t been perfect with the way he has spoken to some people on here, but alot of that IMO has todo with those people attitudes towards him to begin with. Criticise the game fine but do it constructively. However don’t then turn that criticism, into personal attacks or poke fun at Ross and the complain when he doesn’t answer your questions or put you on ignore. It’s that simple/

I get people are frustrated and annoyed with how the game has turned out and yes we all would love more answers at times but it was is. Hell I’m frustrated as a Xbox owner who can’t play the game at all. But at the end of the day you don’t see me day after day askings the same questions and attacking big ant and Ross. Why? Because As frustrated as I am, I know it ain’t gonna make the game come to Xbox any quicker. I also know that if there is ever a question I want answered Ross may actually choose to answer it.

Moral of the story let’s all try and be respectful to one another and hopefully we get the answers to questions y’all keep asking.

Ps: I know some may laugh at this and disagree. But treating people how you want to be treated is a principle I live by and stand by. Maybe some of you could do the same .

8-10 second mark, wish I could enhance the volume but I heard "push in the back" when playing live..... and you can barely hear "back" in the video itself.

I've complained about the AI making kicking/marking/spoiling decisions on my behalf in the past. I've also mentioned how sometimes the player taking the kick in after a behind will automatically rotate before taking the kick in.

Well in recent times the AI is moving the player contesting the ruck without my input.
It's not a faulty controller, I wasn't even holding it in this instance!

Haven’t played for over a week and there is a still a significant lack of responsiveness. You should be able to start powering up a kick or handball as soon as the ball reaches the finger tips. Sometimes it takes a good two seconds to start powering up the darn thing. When is this going to be fixed?

Also there are still glitches when editing the team lineups in academy. The INT/sub abbreviation does not appear/disappear if you move a player on/off the field or in reserves. Also I made Sloane backup ruck by mistake and now it won’t let me remove it. Super frustrating.

Edit: to make it even worse, if you adjust starting team lineups it still doesn’t save for next time. What is up with fixing this game? It is taking an awfully long time to fix very simple things.

I found when my manager mode was crapping itself constantly, if I played in different geurnseys to what I wore when it crashed (eg. I had to swap to bonus geurnseys for both teams as home and away were crashing) it would stop it reoccurring, or if I didn’t activate my tactical sub. Small changes can make a difference in the crashing
