On Steam PC noticing a few changes with the latest patch. The players are a bit more responsive, you can now trigger the smother animation at any time and the game feels a little more unforgiving when button mashing in defence.
A couple of bugs have been introduced, most noticeably using the stick to move the white cross now selects different kick options only. Bit of a howler that needs to be rectified stat. This major problem aside it's feeling like another baby step in the right direction.
6 months of 'baby steps' and still being far off from a real functioning product is a monumental disaster. I noticed in Twistie's latest 23 upload the CPU players were standing still doing absolutely nothing when there was an aerial ball to won, and he was getting the 'stuck in the mud' thing when he was trying to move asap, the game won't let you at times, whereas Live 2011 you could move whenever you wanted. Not sure why they're still having issues with movement, when other AFL games at least got that basic mechanic right. On Steam PC noticing a few changes with the latest patch. BA have clearly stated there were no gameplay changes in the patch.

not wrongIsn’t that what happens in real life at every game with the crowd?
X Box Elite 2.What controller are you using?
I'm using a PS5 controller connected to the PC over Bluetooh, and have no issues with it. Wondering if there's some weird mapping that you're experiencing?
Does the D-Pad change the set shot cross, or do both it and the stick only change the shot type?
At this point I’m just desperate lol. I want this game to be good so badlyWhy would you expect anything?
Hmmm, I’m not too sure about that controller, or the remote play profiles.X Box Elite 2.
It has to be a bug because I can control the players just fine in general play. But when lining up for a goal the left stick becomes a 'select shot type' control just like the D Pad.
Maybe there is an explanation because I have different profiles on the controller and I am using remote play this week (on wired LAN), but I am yet to see how that could explain a specific, consistent gameplay issue.
This has been something most people have been asking for since day 1 but alas BA have added nothing or even confirmed if anything more is to be added. You’d hope for some updates on manager mode
The weird part is that nothing is changing. One minute I am controlling the player and the next I am selecting shot type with a set shot; if I play on i am back to controlling the player. It's a real head scratcher.Hmmm, I’m not too sure about that controller, or the remote play profiles.
But with it not happening on a regular PC game, you might just have a unique configuration that nobody has specifically tried.
Should we be expecting a BIG patch tonight? Would assume the Big Ant office wouldn’t be open Friday/Saturday. Plus, surely what we saw on Thursday wasn’t all they worked on from 22 august to 22 september…
Swear i saw somewhere they’re overhauling the interchange system which would be nice. You’d hope for some updates on manager mode and general gameplay too.
Evo 2 and Live 2011 edges it out by a mile, because you can actually move where you want to go, and there's no stuck in the mud, and players don't stand still.Despite this game being a bit of a let down I've still managed to clock nearly 200 hours into it, it's the best game we've gotten which does say a lot.
There will be no Proteam until at least start of 2024 season. It's a joke!So how about that Pro Team?
You'd have to have or emulate the engine or something I'd imagine. Would have been easier with Evo 2, because its unreal engine 4.Not sure how modding games work as I don’t play anything on PC or really understand that aspect of things but would it be possible for someone to mod AFL 23 and make the gameplay more chaotic to represent irl footy ?
Or is that not possible ?
Mate, I honestly don't think they'd be even bothered to try next year after the year they've had. I think what's there is there now and nothing is coming down the pipeline despite what they say... Seriously, What are they going to get from ProTeam at this point?Games done mate. After Grand Final day they have no reason to persist. Fingers crossed for next year.
Even after all the shady business they did, I would at least entertain a sequel if they could actually do it right, fix all the broken movements, and make the contested play/tactics/formations like the real sport, but that's easier said than done.Mate, I honestly don't think they'd be even bothered to try next year after the year they've had. This is the point where they'll probably sweep it under the rug and focus on the other stuff. They're done with us and we're done with them.
Nah, if we're judging based on gaming advancements at the time, Aussie Rules Footy on the Nintendo was the best in 1991. We're still chasing that high 32 years later. Everything else is just out of bounds on the full.Evo 2 and Live 2011 edges it out by a mile, because you can actually move where you want to go, and there's no stuck in the mud, and players don't stand still.
