I’m gonna have to stop playing this game until they fix management mode. I’ve played through a season of it with the Suns, and there’s no way I can put myself through another one, it’s just so bare bones it’s pretty much just 27 ‘Play Now’ games. Coming up to a month since release and management mode is that dry is disappointing.

Spprts games are meant to be fun, not rage inducing because of glitches!

I can handle sports games where gameplay is repetitive (not that it's exciting) but when it's bug-ridden and glitches that decide outcomes or ruin matches, that's when it's frustrating.

If the game was finished, it probably would have been very immersive to play. WW never took their AFL games to another level. Surely if BA get to do another iteration, they'll fix the gameplay issues and add some of the missing aspects of the sport into it, at least you'd hope. Or everyone crowdfund game_chromosome to make a super advanced 8-bit Aussie Rules simulation game.

There will be another version. Will be very interesting to see where the pin drops between this release and the next; despite the clear focus here on pro team and getting online smooth etc I imagine BA will have to prioritise the core experience. Too many casual gamers these days, even for niche titles.

On the AFL game any news on the Xbox release yet either?

Amazon India stopped listing the game for sale. Just says unavailable. Not sure what to read of that but I'd be pretty confident in guessing that that would've been the main sales source for the entire game.

Concerning regarding a delay? Who knows

FIFA was one of the ones I was referring to as repetitive i.e people run the same plays and moves over and over because they work and have a high % of success.

Those games aren’t exactly bug ridden or overrun with glitches though.

Those games aren’t exactly bug ridden or overrun with glitches though.

Online/FUT are supported extremely well for FIFA. Management mode takes months to patch out issues as they simply don't care / it's not impacting their finances. Thankfully for EA, FIFA is based on a 2 decade old game and isn't a new build, so the bones are there, they just tweak. We're still waiting on the bones to be structured for this one and god knows when that will be. I haven't ventured onto online yet as I'm never confident I'll have enough time to sit down and play through a whole match from start to finish without kids/wife/work interrupting, but I imagine online will definitely get more attention than the others once Pro Team is pushed out and that's what they're primarily supporting. I cant imagine them pulling the pin on Pro Team this release, and with the money / attention the AFL has put on the mode, they simply cannot release Pro Team until it's stable and ready to go (especially after the cluster poop that was the initial release)

Mine disappeared for uncontested marks when they released a patch last week that was supposed to make marking harder. Contested marks I still get it, just not as long as before.

The lack of depth with Management mode is something I feel would have been there even if the game was released without the bugs and glitches. When Ross stated that single player career was gone due to the focus being on Pro Team it was an indication then that depth of management mode is pretty much where BA was going to leave it.

I've had this game since Day 1! Played it off and on to see what difference the patches have made. There have been some big fixes but also some seem to be continuing e.g. the teleportation of players to all of a sudden be on the ball, the 10m fly through the air to take a speccie etc. It is still ridiculous to me that the game was released how it was but what's more ridiculous is that there are still bugs and s**t that riddle this game. As a person who loves AFL and was excited for a decent AFL I am now frustrated and left with a sour taste in my mouth after this dribble that BA released and are yet to fix.

This. I was excited beyond belief for Pro Team especially seeing the first bunch of Legends’ being revealed a month back but now I’m just like meh . At this point I would rather flick BA another $10 to get their 2 best game players to play a full game in its current state and show us how good the game could be when the pro’s play it. I won’t be shelling out any coin in Pro Team until the game is fixed up a fair way more.

Yeah I feel as we go along, this becomes more and more my concern. Whilst they're in it for the long run, I just have EA nightmares and worry Pro Team/Online is going to take/demand their focus too much for single player management mode to really command too much dev effort.

I have said this on another forum site that Proteam is where BA can make more money by people buying the Pro packs. Why would they invest time into career mode when that's not where they can make any money.

My initial thought was extra money once I heard single player career was being dumped so that more time and effort could go into Proteam.

Are you able to play your created players/teams online at the moment? If yes, why wouldn't I just create a legend or historical team and play as them online instead of forking out money on Proteam?

I noticed it as well, I realised though when my player was going to mark, it was doing it automatically and I had another player selected somewhere off screen. I have to change player when the ball is mid air if I want to get the vibration for marking. From memory I’ve turned player selection or whatever the wording it is so I basically do everything. It’s not the worst thing though cause if I’m not quick enough sometimes the AI will mark for me

After almost three weeks of almost daily patches, and with issues from day one still prevalent, single matches have lost their lustre and people have been trying to play what should the the more in-depth management mode, only to find the cupboard bare. So I think most opinions on the game have merged into one: resignation and disappointment.

Mods have also been hot on the case

Gamers have short attention spans and the next big thing is always just around the corner. Attention has probably shifted to Diablo or whatever.

I am liking the gameplay now (except when the difficulty randomly goes impossible) but I will not be able to sink more than an hour at a time in to this game until interchange is fixed and player stats are editable.

The problem is that while some people will still spend money on packs regardless of the online experience a lot won’t and that will be lost money for them. It’s in their best interests to get online sorted and ASAP.

Nope and even if you could in Play Now you wouldn’t be able to in Pro Teams otherwise like you said, everyone would just create overpowered teams on their own.
