New update today but it seems like every update we're going to get is only Pro Team related.

Seems like it's mostly a Christmas related update too. At least from what I've seen, They haven't put out any notes yet besides this clarification from JNT.View attachment 2184692
I think it's safe to say if you bought this game for a mode or other stuff that was advertised, You're probably not getting it at this point if it's not there. No Mini-Games, No Hamish or any of the other stuff Ross went on about that isn't there.

I think I'm honestly more interested in what happens after AFL 23 is sunsetted like it seems to be right now besides Pro Team updates. Are they gonna try again or are we waiting for someone new to try? That's where my interest is at this point.

UPDATE: Before I posted, I found the notes. It is literally just Pro Team updates.View attachment 2184693
It was pretty obvious their focus was only going to be the mode they make an income off.

Also, If you needed any more proof that this game was done with barely any development time in the lead-up. We just got this comment from JNT.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't there an option to toggle Injuries on and off in the options? So it's there but doesn't do anything and it would be a new thing to add to the game for that option to actually do something?

Am I understanding that correctly?

If I am then jeez, That honestly kinda confirms what we were already speculating a year ago. They didn't spend long on development and then shoved it out the door without expecting anyone to be majorly upset at the state of the game.

Big Ant really made a pig's ear of this game didn't they?
Oh absolutely. All Hype Machine and nothing to back it up with.

Ironicly, they probably would have done better with doing the Early Access model they've done with Tiebreak and Rugby 25. That way, It would have probably kept expectations in line and things might have been a lot better in terms of communication and the relationship with the community.

At worst, It would have just had people go, Oh, It's not very good... and move on instead of the pig's ear this thing became with it pretty much ruining the reputation for Big Ant to such a degree that any sort of announcement or reveal is met with hostility and weariness instead of intrigue and excitement as an announcement or reveal for a game should be...

It really has become a perfect cautionary tale for any dev team out there on what not to do when releasing a game and what not to do when communicating with your game's community.

It amazes me they decided to bring in pro team with AFL rather than follow the cricket model which had been pretty successful in focusing on career mode and community creation centre options.

The cricket game has been around for a decade surely that was the game to introduce pro team to and see if it worked.

Looks like Ross' abrasiveness is rubbing
off on JNT.

I can't help but compare them to Hello Games and No man's sky, they smashed it as far as redemption goes (and continue to do so). Big Ant doesn't look like it's learning any lessons.

New update today but it seems like every update we're going to get is only Pro Team related.
A recent update gave a new gameplay mechanic (manual kicking), and that came with no warning or fanfare.
So most updates will be Pro Team, but they may still drop little updates to other areas too. (at least, I hope so)

I just don't think they will spend time putting in things like team-coloured confetti, in-game injuries, or mini games....

Or Hamish McLachlan 🤣
Wonder what the story is behind him because Ross said multiple times that he’s still coming. I assumed he’d be a ProTeam exclusive prior to ProTeam launching but it now seems it’s just not happening.
In saying that, to this day I still hear the odd line that I’ve never heard before which is cool to experience

The gameplay is pretty good now. No idea why injuries and tribunals still havent been introduced to it yet. Weird.
If they work a bit more on this game it would be excellent.
Make players stop and turn quicker so they dont just run out of bounds etc.
Some really good player movements though.
Manual tactics would be nice. Direct tagging.
Custom seasons need work. And a finals only season where you can pick your final 8 in order. Wish theyd spend more time fixing that than pro team stuff.
But geez its pretty good.

Not including Hamish commentary is one of the few things they've done right.
I get people bitching that it was advertised and not delivered, especially when the snarky replies from Big Ant were always "What's on the back of the box is what's in the game".

But seriously, not having Hamish is a bigger selling point than having him.

True but I think why people bring up Hamish is because that was one of the only things besides Pro Team that they kept insisting was coming at the time. I think that's why he became a running joke here, not because people actually wanted him. Kinda like how a Cup of Milo became a running joke for a bit.

Was playing this while waiting for the game to completely install and why is it better than the actual game? Crowd noise is more realistic and louder, set shot feels better. I thought this was a new update?!

Season 4 has started and Bigant are boasting the inclusion of 7 immortal cards. Yet each of them are just recycled players already in the game.

Also there doesn’t appear to be any new legends in season 4.

What happened to the list of legends promoted? Most legends in the 4 seasons of proteam so far were either a) currently listed players at the time of scanning, b) senior men’s or W coaches

The only legends apart from a or b are:
Peter bosustow
Michael roach
Jason McCartney
Heath Black
Peter Everitt
Graham Wright
James Podsiadly
Wayne Campbell

Am I missing any?
