Competition AFL Asia All-Star jumper design competition

Dear design gurus,

I am writing this on behalf of my friend who is on the committee of AFL Asia and is in charge of coming up with a design for the Asian All-Star jumper which will be be worn by a team of the best players from all over Asia in an exhibition match against the China Reds immediately after the Gold Coast Vs Port Adelaide game in Shanghai in Round 8 this year. No expats will be playing in this match.

Unfortunately, men and women in AFL Asia are volunteers, so there can't be a financial prize for the winning design, but you will get sent your own jumper, and will have massive bragging rights forever and a day. Hopefully the Asian All-Star team will be on TV, but cannot promise anything.

The theme of the uniform is 'LIONS', and there is no preference on colours, although the China Reds uniform is red with yellow stars.

Unable to confirm yet, but at this stage it's looking like a combination of Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, HK, Malaysia and Laos, although it's impossible to say for certain as yet. It's all dependent on availability of players.

Can work for nearly any colour scheme, here's two.

I'll be going to this game so I thought I'd have a go!

All the countries listed above have either red or blue on their flag (sometimes both!) so I went with the middle ground in purple to represent everyone. I made it dark so that it would provide good contrast with China's bright red guernsey.

The inverted orange pickets symbolise a lion's mane. I think they have a bit of a traditional body armour/blade weapon vibe about them too.
