Pity the train doesn't have the correct passengers on it. The boys that slogged it out all year will get dropped so the tossers who can't win a game in div 1 can play. They were helped out to try and increase and improve the comp. they have done the complete opposite. Why don't they just fold in div 1 and put one team in div 3 and win every game. Pathetic by the jets coaches and committees. I hope Yass flog them on sat. Would be good to see one country team in finals. Would love to see anu drop out. Southcab I'm still on belco but don't get to see many games so been going off results which isn't working too well
From what I've gathered from your ridiculous comments on this forum you have no real allegiance to any side in this comp, nor have you been willing to pull on a jumper for the year to contribute to what you constantly state is a competition riddled with inequity and mis management. If you took the time to research your mindless dribble prior to one finger typing your comments you might realise how embarrassingly misinformed and pathetic they are.

You are a deadset peanut and about 3 years behind the debate.

If you go back a number of pages this discussion has already been had.

The Jets don't have the numbers or the luxury they have had in previous seasons. With an average age of mid 30s I think you can't accept the fact that the older guys can still mix it with the younger bodies.

Good on them for fielding a team in Div 1 even though they are getting soundly beaten every week. At least Div 3 is producing some results, with older guys.

So who are you pulling a jumper on for?

Just noticed on sportingpulse that the ADFA v Eastlake div 2 game that was postponed in Round 5 has been finalised and has been given the same reault as the game they just played. Is that just a stuff up or what, does anyone know?

Hardly seems right if that is the case. If ADFA postponed the match because they couldn't play then they should be forced to forefit, not just double the result for the next time they play.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I might play for jets div 1

Yep, the game was rescheduled prior to the Season to be played on a Tuesday night. Eastlake informed ADFA a few days prior that they couldn't play the Tuesday night game. As both sides were now responsible for a reschedule it was agreed by both clubs and ratified by the league that the next game would be worth double points.

Hi guys, just noticed that the Murrumbidgee cooma scores from the weekend have changed. Looks like cooma may have been given the points. Anyone know more about this? Jectz?

It must have something to do with player eligibility, with tuggers forfeiting the friday night game bidgee entered a team sheet that listed the div 2 side. Then those players played div 3 on the saturday witch you cant do .You can only go up in grades not down .Thats wat i think anyway could be way off the mark !!!.It makes the Cooma ,Coota game interesting now at Cooma saturday.

Perhaps the jets might take a leaf out of their book

lol freddy, atleast being called a muppet and idiot and w***er doesn't stop you from saying what you think..
hopefully if Gungahlin gets looked at, they won't find anything they shouldn't

Tips for this weekend:

ANU
BELCO
YASS (If they have the numbers)
COOTA (Game of the round - whoever wins must be pushing for that 4th spot!)
AINSLIE
ADFA

interesting you say the 4th spot... who out of the current top 4 do you think will drop out?

The way it is going I see ANU are in danger of falling out. I honestly think that the Rnd 18 ANU vs Gungahlin game will decide the 4th spot as I can see Coota winning their remaining games. It is a shame all the games for rnd 18 are being played on Sunday, it would have been good to get alongg and watch a few tough finishes to the season.

its an exciting finish to a season, one i have never seen before. i cant see ADFA and Belco dropping out, Coota are a good shot now having beat UNI at home, Gungahlin manage to get wins whenever they need them somehow but still have a very tough draw ahead of them, Yass have 2 really tough games but both at home where they are a powerhouse and are still in with a sniff and we (Cooma) still have an outside chance too. Hectic

i agree, i usually get along to as many games as i can when im not playing too... i dont know what has happened with the last sunday games. i dont think i have ever played my last game of the season on a sunday before.

The last round just happens to coincide with the gws melb game at Manuka on the sat so all of our games need to be on the Sunday. Just unfortunate timing.

How hollow will the flag be in Div 3 when Gungahlin win it?

Maybe Woden can drop back to the division we belong in and have a crack at the flag next year too?

A bit arrogant Ferret. What makes you think that after getting smacked all year in the 2s, Woden could drop back to the 3s and win the flag? As for your comment about the Jets, I hope your evidence is not based solely on the testimony on this forum? So far I've read a lot of shit-slinging, which comes mostly from dudes associated with one-team clubs that don't have to manage players across multiple divisions. What I haven't read is anything that proves their theories right. From what I can tell, the JETS have hit their straps at the right time of year and there's a few teams that may have penciled them in for a win to their detriment. I would have thought hitting form at the business end of the season is something all teams aspire to?

I guess it's easier for some to assume a team is cheating rather than improving?

Nev

I've re-read my message - it looked like a pot shot, but wasn't intended that way. I've got some good mates at the Jets and would like to see Parko win another flag before he finally retires!

I said at the AFL Canberra Presidents meeting at the start of the year two things - 1) Woden would have a great Div 3 team this year, and 2) Gungahlin would make the Div 3 finals. 20 weeks later both comments seem right on the money.

You may re-read my message - I never said Woden would win the flag, but have a crack at it. We'd be far more competitive in Div 3 than than we have been this year in Div 2. In saying that, this years Woden team had about 12 blokes playing in their FIRST EVER season. Not first season of seniors, first ever of Aussie Rules. We'll be better next year and I have no inclination about asking to go down, as it would be a backwards step for the football club, and our affiliation and association with the Cooma Cats is a relationship of great value to both clubs.

Now having coming out of a long overdue retirement and played in both Div 2 and Div 3 this year for Cooma and the Blues, the difference in speed and intensity between the leagues is significant. You won't ever hear me bag Div 3 - it was where I learned to play footy, but the top teams in Div 2 are extremely good and would be competitive against the lower AFLCBA Div 1 teams. I'd suggest the top Div 3 teams would give the bottom Div 2 teams a run for their money - and ADFA this year are just at a different level in the two games I have seen them play.

Now Nev, just some history for you. Woden won flags in Div 4 in 2002-04 - I think we lost about 6 games in the three years. We went up in 05 - and won 2 or 3 games for the year and came extremely close to folding as a club. It wasn't until Weston Creek started to collapse and we picked up a few old school mates of mine, their mates and a few over 30+ ex-Kingston Wolves players in 2007 that we became competitive in the Division. So I've been there, done that, know what it takes, and its a big step.

Funny thing is, in 2012 we have had one of our worst ever results seasons, but probably the best, tightest group of mates off field we've had since 'the glory days'. We can't wait for 2013!

Good luck to those still in the race for finals - may the games be decided by good play rather than bad calls, and on the Sunday Round 18 all pubs in the city stay open as each club heads into their Mad Monday...
