Good to see that Tuggeranong and Gunghalin have gotten their first wins of the year in the seniors. Are Gunghalin still getting first access to Demons players that aren't being picked?

Tuggeranong still havent had a win??

I heard that Gungahlin get the first 4 or 5 from the demons then if there are anymore Tuggeranong get the rest.

Their 2's had a win :)

I think it is super unfair that when they play the Hawks they get that advantage. Against the other teams you let it slide but when both clubs are clearly struggling those 5 players could easily be the difference between a win and a loss.

The regional comp looks like it’s a race to see who will finish runners up to Cootamundra

There’s no doubt coota are a quality footy side and there’s no doubt there favourites but they are beatable, the whinging around the regional comp is grossly unfair . Coota trued there hardest to play div 3 it was the league that said no .

Yes , Hardly their fault . Others teams need to get better not bitter , football can a strange sport at times

Was Belconnen beating Yass a suprise to anyone?
Not here. Belconnen look to have a very competitive outfit and I look forward to seeing what they do with a full squad on the park (only game I've seen they were apparently quite short).

Coota are a quality side and they can only play who the league puts them against. They are beatable but it will take a great effort. Strong favourites but come finals time I wouldn't write off the other qualifiers.

Surely Goulburn weren’t full strength on the weekend to beaten by that much at home by coota

They were missing Vaughan and Bill which gave them no hope. Coota are beatable, their reliance on Maskell-Knight to kick goals could be both a strength and weakness.

Are they worth 108 points though ? Their midfield seem to get forward and kick a few , hardly a bad thing to have a full forward averaging 6 a game atm

Fair call. Personally don't think Goulburn can compete with no Vaughan and Bill that's a considerable number of clearances that disappear. Coota played a weakened Belconnen side, nothing they can do about that. Think the game against Cooma is probably a fair reflection of where they sit. Damaging enough to get 30 shots at goal. There is a way to beat them, sides just haven't worked it out just yet.

Well are you going to share with everybody how to beat them ?

Looks like the Cats have forfeited tomorrows game going off their FB page.
Good old Regional comp back at it. Looking at their page they’ve made it clear they exhausted all avenues. However in a comp where a club only has 7 home games that’s unfair to Goulburn. Pretty sure when it was the regional comp in 2015 they forfeited at Goulburn as well.
Hopefully forfeits don’t become a norm across the comp. With coota so dominant that’ll be a hard road trip to get a team together

How does a team go from winning the comp to forfeiting 5 weeks into the next year ?

Low numbers are a reality in reg comp , it’s hard to get blokes motivated when all u do is travel . Coota boys racked up 1000 ks over the last three weeks away games . I imagine Cooma would have been similar. 5 weeks into the comp and after talking to some in opposition teams I doubt that this comp will survive past this year . I hope I’m wrong !!

In the regional rugby Comp around the Canberra area if you forfeit an away game you then give that team your home game could be good for this regional Comp to make teams travel (ie bungendore were meant to go to taralga in round 3 but forfeited so now have to go there in round 10 instead of playing at home)

Really think this is overkill. The points lost from a forefeit are bad enough.

It's also not even on punishment because if we only have 1 game left against a side which we forfeit, there is no home game to swap. If it went a bit more extreme, a team really struggling might have to forfeit all their matches to a side because they can't scrape up numbers for the travel (forfeit first away game, so home game becomes away, which they then have to forfeit etc).
Then there are the changes to grounds etc when teams have organised functions and players have organised events outside football etc

That said, we know by the notice that the comp for with fixtures that AFL Canberra aren't too concerned with clubs trying to organise things, and if they are looking for another nail in the regional team coffins.... this could help
