Any body got any veiw,s opinon,s on the new northern comp and what it will do for act footy ?

The ACTAFL and QAFL remain separate sub-Leagues within the one league, with their own flags, crossover games between the two are limited (more for the benefit of the four AFL reserves clubs).

However, just the inclusion of the GWS reserves in the Canberra comp is sufficient to raise interest and improve the quality (going from six teams to seven in the process).

Apparently at Woden you're Assistant Coach to M Altus

Wow, you know something I don't Youdogs. I would have thought the Blues would've told me before you on BF :D

Look as though the big fella is going to have a crack at coaching though. He'll be good. A well respected and well like bloke around the club:thumbsu:

Has Ricky D stepped aside all together?

Any new players or retirements at any clubs??

How are your clubs looking for next year??

I know we have lost a couple at our club but we have young 4th graders who will step up.

blokes like
Sam
Bop
Ham

I think Bop and maybe Ham can step up to the mark but Sam and Campbell will struggle.

Who is your club  and who have you lost?

From what I've heard, it looks like "our club" (Woden) will have a similar side to last year, with 1 or 2 possible retirements, but it's still probably too early to say for sure.

Belconnen have lost the following players from last year:
Buzz
Netto
Mickos
Jono
Jacko
Rory gregory
Devo
Jezza BR
Axe
Tayls
Patto
Toddy
Haighy
Calvo
Lavo (most likely)
Collo

Players remaining from last year's premiership side:
Spanner
Cainy
Coatsy
HR
Dawso
B Daw

I'm backing half the Belco boys to accept a game in 4's about round 6, then play the rest of the season out.

I'm looking for someone to take over the round the grounds report for 2011. Anyone got a youngster in their club who is studying journalism that wants some real life experience that they can use as a reference for future employment opportunities?

You and Ferret are kidding - lay off the adfa lads - until you have done a day or two of military service how about you have a can of f..k up - and thsi is from clubs whose supporters have always been 'exemplary right' - woden fans are the worst in the league - your p..s weak supporters took photos of goal umpiring this year for 'disputed decisions' - why was that - need the percentatge for finals did ya - lucky teh big blak man wasn't at that game - he would hae stuck the camera up your budgehole

Hi all, long-time reader, first-time poster here.

Growling Ferret, I couldn't help but notice your appeal for someone to do the "round the ground" match reports.

If no one has noticed, there is a member on here called RSPumpa who seems the perfect candidate. A knack for journalism, with a hint of arrogance.

I particularly like: "until you have done a day or two of military service how about you have a can of f..k up"
AND
"lucky teh big blak man wasn't at that game - he would hae stuck the camera up your budgehole"

I hope he applies.

If Pumpa is who I think he is, the closest he has ever done to military service is to give a gobby to a cadet to earn some cash to pay back all his debt...

Just a quick questions does YASS play in this league and if so we have a bloke playing for us that won the medal in this league back a few years, so would that bloke be up to playing in the top league in canberra or is there a big jump.

Yass Play 4th division here mate. It's a massive jump from 4s to 1s in Canberra.

I am assuming you are talking about Ben Serafin, and if so he played a handfull of games for ainslie div1 and also played one,s for st marys.
In my opinoin he would be up to the challenge.

On another note it,s good to see tuggers feilding a side in div 4 next season this means there will be no bye.

thanks guys the blokes name is Liam Brandon, any info would be great.
The year he won both medals,He was way above a div 4 player and he comes from a good footy family. His father was approached by geelong and essenden back in his day .He has a younger brother who is a giant named Sam,he is even more talented then Liam.

Liam was doing a pre season with ainslie the year after he won the medals but apparantly got homesick so he moved back to vic. Would he make div 1 here? ainslie thought so and so do i.

At Belconnen, played 4 grades in 2 years. Jackson Rowe from Belconnen (played in the 3's flag this year) played all 4 grades in 1 year a few season's ago.

Nearly every team in 3rd and 4th grade has one or two guys more than capable of playing 1's. but the overall gap in standard is massive - only a fool would argue otherwise, go and watch a 1's game then a 4th's game. its not so much the standard of a teams top tier blokes, but more their bottom 6 or so players that is the difference, and when you go down the grades that bottom tier gets more and more crowded.

I am well aware of the difference in standard, just saying it is possible.
