How many Hogs are going to miss Round 1 due to suspensions from the GF? I vaguely remember a few reports, just wondering if any of the boys got off or not...

BMFC footy trip was to Melbourne a few weeks ago. About 20 blokes went. One poor pr!ck had to drive cos he couldnt get flights, another experienced the wrath of an angry construction worker at 7am on the way home from the strippers - steel bar across the back of his noggin!!!

Saw the Collingwood v Adelaide game, and a VFL semi. Drank a few beers too.

Just a few beers? :p

Us Ainslie lads have got about 16 of us heading to Perth on Friday morning... Gonna be a beauty I think.

Boof

30 boys did a combined Blues/Cats Prelim final weekend of 3 games of footy (2 AFL prelims, one VFL), a day at the races and more grog than Fev could imagine...

I missed my first trip in 11 years still recovering from glandular fever, so no reports from me :( nobody arrested, only one hospitalised...

Our Presentation Night is the week after the long weekend so I'll be able to report after that.

The 2010 Trip is currently being planned. The talk is Vegas...

Legendary trip including Shane Warn award for the genious who texted his skank to come back to his room but accidentally texted his canberra piece too - just like the good old days - glad to see the winners are still vertical grinners

Its tame compared to the former player who's missus rightly suspected he was cheating on her on the trip.

When he made it home, all his clothes and possessions were cut up and wrecked and on the front lawn.

The clown has since moved on to nobody's surprise. He was a knob (and now someone elses problem - and doing the same things at his new club). How many clubs can one person burn their way through?

Early notice. The Cooma Cats are once again looking to run a pre-season Gala Day on the 27th March 2010 (tentative date). This gives teams two weeks prior to the season proper starting amd would be an ideal hitout. Last year we had teams from Eden, Tugga and Belco as well as the Cats. This year we hope to have eight teams playing on adjacent grounds. Although it is a ways off, any interested teams can call me on 0428767921 to register interest and we can go from there. By all the feedback from visiting teams, last years day was well recieved so we hope to make next years day even better. Thanks.

Heard Rick Dolliver has been on the recruiting drive signing small forward Danny Priest from the uni blues in the VAFA, should be a handy pick up as he finished third in the B n F and already knows a number of the players.

Also heard belconnen talking to Tasmanians Jack siggins and Tim Cannan who if come over will more than likely join woden as they have strong connections with Priest and Dolliver

Why would they join Woden if Belco are talking to them !!!!!!! other than they know Priest. Why artnt Woden talking to them ?

Danny trained with us last year when he was up for work - if he is playing he will be an asset. Good kid from my limited exposure to him

I hope he's not expecting a massive weekly cheque though. We only pay in beer!

No idea who our real in's and outs are. I suspect most of the 09 side will be back even older, fatter, slower and uglier - there are 3 retirements all requiring knee reconstructions but that's about it.

I some how doubt players will move interstate to play 3rd grade footy....... If Belconnen are talking to them I would say it will be to play on their senior list where there are dollars involved.

I hear on the street that the yass roos will have more x belconnen players next year :)
Add that to some passed players returning and the new dressing sheds being all but finished and things are on the up.

I know Priest well and he has said he is playin for woden and is more than happy to accept beer as a payment. He never heard anything bout the other boys and neither of them have been approached by belconnen. Whos the team to beat in 2010??

ANU are reigning Premiers, and Harman will have a lot to play for after missing out on
their chance at glory this year.

Not sure where everyone else is at for 2010 - most haven't even thought about starting pre-season yet.

Players Wanted

The Gungahlin Jets would like to hear from anyone interested in playing or being involved in Aussie rules in Canberra for next season and beyond. The Jets are entering into an exciting new era in their history with two new sides (Div 2 and U18) being entered for the first time on top of the existing Div 3, 4 and Womens teams. The club prides itself on promoting a family friendly atmosphere, fun, mateship and both on and off field success. The Jets have enjoyed considerable success on the field in recent years and look to continue this while establishing themselves in the Division 2 and U18 competitions with the long term goal of entering a side in the premier division, Div 1, in the ACTAFL. All prospective players should contact senior coach Todd Pulford on 0411127777 and for others wanting to get involved,( eg sponsors or volunteers) please contact club general manager Wayne McColl on 0404 015529

What happened to the players you were talking about being approached and offered possible reserve grade spots with the Tri colours?

Word on the street is that Belco will have one N.Clarke playing a fair few games now he has signed on as assistant coach of their seniors. S.Mahar apparently has expressed interest as well now he's retired.

Or they could just be rumouring it up, DJ Ando style.

Clarke, will play a few games but it will be with the younger guys in the reggies, with the veiw of dragging them through to the ones when he takes the head coaches job in 2011.:)
