Cooma are surely thrilled about a Friday night game at Tuggeranong? Goulburn with a 4:30 Saturday game at Greenway too... Yass with a 7pm Friday game in Tuggeranong etc...

Who comes up with this shit?

Apologies if the clubs involved have pre planned "Canberra weekends" over those dates, but dead set...

I would have actually loved to have played a 7pm game. Only because we haven't had the opportunity to do this before. I think it's ok. Has being put in this grade changed what Tuggers are doing? Do they definitely have 3 sides?

I can't see this league being particularly appealing for that Tuggeranong side if they're similar to last year... All 5 teams that made the finals, and a team that didn't win a game.

If they drop out, a 12 game season with byes every 3rd weekend will be pretty fun.

And the winner is ................................

Last time Cooma had a friday they request it from the league. I know this because they played us (Jets) and when we asked for change the answer was it was a a request from Cooma. Maybe they have requested another, in hindsight it was success for us.

Jets playe Sydney Uni (4s 5s and 6th grades) -this saturday

Yes cooma have requested Friday games in the past, would love to play it at home on Snowy Oval but the lights don't allow that yet. But it's good to play on a Friday night to free up the weekend

Seems pretty even to me... your thoughts for Yass SC?
Know point worrying about it Nov its done now.Very much doubt that tuggers will field a div 5 side so it will change again .My only hope is that the interstate teams don't have to pay the same costs and local teams. I don't think it's fair we subsidise the ACTAFL When we are giving nothing in return. Soccer will become number one in our regions I believe . And they the Canberra custodians of our great game will be to blame.

I don't understand why you think you shouldn't have to pay the same fees as every other club in the competition, and because you do pay the same fees you should be given favouritism? Can you explain that to us?

Can you explain why you keep calling yourself 12 magpies when you clearly aren't a part of belconnen anymore?

Perhaps you should pull your head out and have a good look around.
1 We are disadvantaged by less home games, No canteen ,less functions , etc. all of witch are needed to pay the bloody league
2 We do our own umpiring
3 We supply our own Goal umpires
4 we do our own boundary's
5 We travel twice as much as Canberra teams
6 We get know support from Canberra
7 We don't want favouritism for money not that I would expect someone who is in upper echelon of players to understand.
8 If we are to travel more play at home less and pay the same fees then send us umpires send us boundary's send us goal umpires. Give us footys water bottles ,or even travel out here buy a cup a coffee park your arse on the grass ,Or help us with grants ,we have applied for 14 years and yet to win a freckle. We built our own ground ,We pay the local council to be able to use it subsidise that ,But if we are to pay the same as Canberra do something for us .That's all im asking I know all of this is trivia to you 12 Magpies however for country teams its all we have got ,it is our first grade its our everything.
Do you think its ok for us to subsidise teams like yours as we do courtesy of the ACTAFL WHEN YOU BLOKES GET PAID ??? I don't mean any disrespect to you im just at a point were if we are to pay the same fees to play in the same comp then make it under the same rules and make it same for everyone.

Draw in div 3/4 is uneven with half the teams having 2 byes and the other half having 3.. gives an advantage to the games with less for % of wins and B&F voting... bit disappointing, surly they can add a bye to all those teams that only have 2 to even it up

Practice Games for Juggers, we are playing Bathurst Bushrangers tomorrow (14th of March) at Hughes oval at 2pm in our annual preseason fixture.

Hey guys, I already play footy in canberra but at the UC open day i received a flyer for the UC Magpies that had both Belconnen and Gungahlin Logos on it, is there a relationship there ? Just struck me as a bit weird considering a lot of banter on here is between presumably The Jets assistant Coach and a Magpies faithful.

Blokes who don't get picked for Gungahlin 2s are playing Belco 3s, I think?

Not sure why Belconnen would want them, given the number of games Gungahlin won in the corresponding competitions last year...

Why wouldnt they want to get as many numbers as possible! Every year without fail teams from higher grades take players from the lower grades, so I commend them for building a solid base of players now.

Apart from this year, where Gungahlin takes players from a higher grade to play in their lower grade side...

My comment stated that higher grade sides took players from the lower grade side, as any reserves team does, the lower grade tops up its higher grades

Last year for us it was from Div 3 to Div 2. Now we have Div 1 and Div 2 but may still need top up players from time to time, we have a relationship with Belco in the UC side. It is my understanding that in this case players can be registered with the Jets (or Belco) and play for the UC side on permit, or vice versa.

Seems odd the league is ok with the Jets plundering blokes who aren't making the Ainslie NEAFL team, then guys who subsequently don't make the Jets 2s team with these numbers coming back go and play for Belconnen 3s/more likely 4s? Do guys who don't make Belconnen 4s then go and play Ainslie 5s?

I suggest you take that up with the league. I can assure you that this is not as ideal for us as you seem to think. Do you think this is what we proposed to the league? Players in - Players out, not great for building culture, but we'll run with it and give it another crack.

Also - isnt local footy about trying to give everyone a go, even if it means a bit of a shuffle in the lower grades, not ideal but it is inclusive.
