I've been thinking about just going for broke myself. Wallowing in mediocrity this year is starting to bore me. I only have 8 left but I might get the wheels in motion pretty soon and go for it.

Anyway. The squad you've put together is mighty impressive. Let's hope the injuries don't hit too hard and I could definately see you making top 50-100. Which from where you were is a fantastic effort.
Do you have a target you'd like to reach? If i recall correctly you wanted top 500 earlier on. Surely you could aim higher now.

To everyone bitching about everyone else, just cut it out, its making this thread less and less enjoyable to read.

I have enjoyed the feedback and tips on here, but its not worth reading all this antagonising bullshit from everyone. especially LH15 and theone.

Lets just get back on topic and talk about dreamteam and stop telling each other that the other has stuffed up. once is fine, but 15 times is rubbish.

everyone goes about DT in different ways and mistakes happen. I have 2 trades left, but im 2nd on my league and this is all for fun, just cause one person is serious doesn't, doesn't mean all othe rpeople here are. should be less criticising and more constructive feedback

Its roll the dice stuff from here. There are really only 8 competetive teams in my league (very even) and they all have more trades and better cash cows than me.

Huddo to White would be a reasonable option and I agreed the trade button should get switched off for a while.

When u get closer to round 19 and the finals. Cash in a few cash cows and go apeshit with the money.

Make sure u look at the draw when u deciding on what players u bringing in. Match Ups, Sydeny (DT Killer) etc etc

The problem with my side is that it is inconsistent. Good week is 2000+ bad week is 1600. I'm going to be sailing pretty close to the wind (almost no bench) come finals time (guaranteed) but my run on side will beat all teams in the league most weeks.

Save your trades or incorporate some bench value into them! You'll be really dirty on yourself if you have to go in one short in your league finals! Absolutely no value in trading out Lloyd now. He'll come good in the second half of the year. I've had him all year and are definitely sticking with him. He'll be a good differentiator some finals time when he's hitting his straps. AFL has to get smarter about dreamteam. People are losing interest.. running out of trades. The game needs to be more challenging, more diverse... too many mid-range midfielders being overlooked by coaches b.c of excess salary cap and limited trades.

if the salary cap was HALVED, trades DOUBLED, and you could pick 3 premium mids and 4 normal mids (with emgs to cover both)... it would be alot more fun... people would be trading almost every week... and these boards would be rockin' !!

I made this thread in July last year because i used all my trades up too early and i decided to make an early start for next year.
At this rate, LH15 will be in the same boat.
He only has 3 trades left.

I said that D.Swan was a "dud" footballer and that he was accumulating nearly all his points in Dream Team the "cheap" way.
I said this in the early stages of last year which was his break-out year so i do not really think that it was such a stupid statement.
Even though i think he still gets a lot of cheap touches, i now rate him pretty highly.

I never, ever said that i did not pick M.Priddis because he is overperforming.

With all credit to the guy, he has taken his chance and made the most of it.
It was a great selection if you had him from the start.

I don't think you are aware of the arrangements that have been made in the EDT League... Refer to part in bold. Hodgey, a few others & myself have got a wager going on too... The competitiveness in there is fu<ken unbelievable... It is awesome...

FWIW, with your trade situation & cash, you can still crack the top 1000. Firstly you need to ditch Burton & forget about the couple of hundred dollars you may win for your league & concentrate on what you originally set out to do & that was to aim for an overall win.

A couple of hundred dollars you'll blow in a night when you are out with your mates & more... Surely one less night out with your mates won't kill you. All the stress of responding to everyone that bags you about your change of heart and so on might.

Personally I don't have an issue with you, as you do make some very interesting points & there is a football brain in your head, irrespective of what the majority say. You do however have the propensity to mar your reputation by contradicting yourself, that's all...
