Tuck : remember hawks have some quality players to come back still Crawford, Dew, Croad, Williams, T.Clarke
Quality? Tim Clarke? :D

Ha, Crawf's the only one who could impact on Tuck. He'll average 80 with ease.

Bulldogs play Essendon, Richmond and West Coast (all in Melbourne).

If Hill can pull 3 80s he will go to 270K so the value still exists.
Will he pull 3 80s? I doubt it highly. Totally stopped last week after a quater of cheap posessions and a purple patch. I rekon the end of his patch for the year ended at 3qtr time last week. I hope I'm wrong.

What do people think about Joel Bowden.. Playing in a completely different role this year, last year played key back on the big lumpy forward and therefore ran off and got cheap possies, this year he is playing on smaller forwards and therefore they are more accountable leading to less cheapies.

Should he get traded while he is still at a decent price, or should he be kept with... I know his previously been a DT king but roles change and there is even talk of him getting dropped..

I have S Johnson as well but i reckon he will 100% come good... what are peoples thoughts on trading him for anyone under 420,000

I already have Shaw, B Jones, Waters, Gilbee and Mattner

- Sam Fisher, Mundy, Goddard, Newman, Birch, Ellis, Ossie, Bolton or Bock

Any advice would be great.

I could downgrade Dyson for Taylor (bench) bring on palmer and then trade bowden for C cornes.. + 100000

Bowden will come good
last year he had scores of

63
65
67
72

then he averaged 101, for the rest of the season

True but it's the change of role that is worrying most. I will pick him up if he shows that he will still get loads of cheap stats. No depth of quality in the backline means that Bowden of old is a must!

Cheers for the info, May just upgrade Jones to C Cornes. His got a B/E of 80+ against sydney so will struggle. I was always going to upgrade, that way i stick to my preseason plan. Get best Mid and best back in first few weeks.

I'm very keen on getting BJ in the next few weeks, given that his price will be going down a bit.

ATM I have Pav, Brown, Porps, Didak, Delidio, Rioli, Tippet, Gamble and Cloke in my forward line.

Of those, obviously only the more expensive players could get me BJ. No way am I gettind rid of Pav and Brown, want to keep Porps, Didak and Cloke for now as they are all showing good signs. Not sure about Deledio though. What do people think of this trade? Was thinking about getting Hill last week, but alas, I didn't, but I still see plenty of value in him. I have 28k in bank atm...

This week:
In: Hill
Out: Deledio

Next week (or week after)
In: BJ
Out: Hill

I worked out I can afford BJ even if he gets about 100 and Hill only gets 40 this week, but obviously that's an unknown atm. Any help guys? Or would it be worth to wait an extra week to bring BJ in for Hill and get a little more cash?

Every year there is always questions over bowden

but you are right, djch00k, they havnt been this bad before

although really the talk of him being dropped, has been beat up to much around the media. it was only the one bloke down at tigerland who said he shouldnt be playing

then terry came out today (see article few pages back), and said bowden had the support of the club, and that he always takes time to work his way in, but wallace was sure that his USUAL form (meaning cheap stats) would be around the corner

yea i'm in a simliar boat mate, but if your wanting to trade in Hill and then trade him out the week later or 2 weeks later. wots the point? why dont u just trade tippet or gamble for BJ??? Hill will max value at close to 400k the way his going at the moment, but that wont aparently happen till round 10ish, at which stage you could upgrade him to a forward u dont have yet, eg, Riewoldt, Franklin or Chapman

Coaches should now be aware that this kid is good and has the ability to be damaging, can see his numbers dropping very shortly.

Anyway the train has well and truly left the station and the journey is about half way.

What? Keep Hill for 1-2 weeks then trade him out? Amazing, what a waste of trades.

He pretty much singlehandedly kept the Dogs in the game through the first half! He was on & off the ground a lot during the 2nd half I thought - I was at the game and watching him pretty closely. He also spent most of his time on ground in the 2nd half deep in the forward line - perhaps looking after him considering the amount of work he did in the 1st half? Smart coaching.

My money is on him continuing to deliver some pretty impressive scores, but I guess we'll see. He was VERY impressive in the 1st half.

I don't think 80s are sustainable long term but they may possibly be over the next 3 weeks.

The big advantage he has is his ability to take a contested mark so even with extra attention this will serve him well.

Also, Rocket has used him forward, mid and back so if he is not getting a touch rotation may fix this. The risk is that the Eagle is back this week so Hill could be more up forward with less time in the action. Only time will tell.

i don't understand whats goin on with the HB's from last season with the likes of Waters, Mcphee and now Bowden, trying to play across half foward...

Waters plays well their and Mcphee can at times but Bowden is naturally a rebound defender....

Hey guys, I'm looking for a bit of advice...

Is it worth trading for playing bench players.....for example scott d thompson looked as if he'd play a heap of games this year....is it worth if he's not picked next week jumping on the taylor/selwood cash cow train?

Or in another example, jake edwards looked the good early and like thompson was in my round 1 side...if he's not picked and with hartlett coming back is it worth trading to gamble and get on that cash cow train.....

These are extremely sideways but is it worth the money through the cash cows or is it best to wait and bide my time??

Thoughts please??

What are people's thoughts on the following three trades over the next couple weeks?
Week 3
Houli -> Palmer
Shaun Burgoyne -> Cross/Goodwin
Week 4
Wood -> Cox

All going to plan, I'd probably end up with no money left over. Thoughts?

Houli to Palmer is the obvious one - where Palmer will soar in value.

Burgoyne to Cross/Goodwin - regretting getting Burgoyne when guys in the same price range such as Murphy and Ling (flip of a coin between him and Burgs) are average upwards of 100. Still struggling with a tag, and whilst a gun, I just can't see him averaging anywhere near Cross. Only 80k difference, and could be handy. Others cheaper than Cross could be justified, but he is a proven gun.

Cox to Wood is the other obvious one- would have made the trade this week, but given Cox's injury concern, hopefully he doesn't play and Wood gains 10k or so, while I start Kreuzer on the bench for the week. It's risky though - if Cox increases in value by 5k over Wood then I won't be able to afford the trade and WC will almost certainly name him.
