In the absence of Noodles...I should contribute to what has been a very quiet threat for the year. Congrats on that! Just going about the business of playing footy.
Really excited to see the development of the game in the region. 2 new teams in the competition and Cardiff adding a 3rds to the mix. Great signs.
Terrigal's dominance may continue next season, if you were a betting man you'd tip them even now barring injuries. They saw off all comers time and time again. Wonder how long they can keep the group together for.
City's reign isnt quite over yet. Killarney Vale are on the up and Cardiff are still hanging in there. Nelson Bay doing some good things also, perhaps a stronger year next year for the Marlins. Dont know about the dogs, grabbed a few big wins but took a while to get going. The Roosters could do with some more luck, if they get their guns on the park regularly results may differ...
Sad to see the Dockers struggles and having Bob Hooten pass away just added to a tough year. Credit to the club though, they've battled along since 1998 through 3 playing strips, countless thrashings and a few talented players walking. I hope they fortunes turn, get a few solid recruits and chalk up a few wins.
The lower divisions seem to be a hit particularly the thirds. Great to allow new clubs to take a smaller step into the competition, win a few games and help grow their club.
I reckon aussie rules in the region can continue to flourish. Not as 2 dimensional as league and some rough and tumble for the soccer players that want that bit extra that'd otherwise see them red carded off. Credit to you Garry for the work this year, covering all bases as always from BarTV commentary to GF presentation duties.
On the Bob Hooten note, RIP Bobby!! what a top bloke and a real loss to aussie rules and Newcastle in general. You'll be missed.
