Hi Ross,

Just wondering if you are getting close to a release date since that the expected release date is the 14th of April. Therefore there is only 31 days until it is released:) I am looking forward to the game coming out but it seems as their might be another delay on the game which is unfortunate given that their will not be enough time to supply the stores with their copy's.
Just give the bloke a f*cking break

Went and saw the game today at Chadstone JB. Was a few people around the TV and got to play 1 game as carlton against collingwood.

Ruck is really fun. as is positioning yourself for a mark. couldn't really get the hang of the different types of kicks but the HES guy was helpful. tackling was easy. but that's better than spending the time raging at tackles not working...

I struggled to kick it more than 30m but i figure that i was just not powering up enough because i was worried about spraying it... and i was playing with my 14 year old brother who isn't the best at games so couldn't really share it around. but i can imagine being able to link up really well with 2 player who know what they're doing or as single player.

real good game

Nah no signed copy here with me yet :(

I tried to convince Ross to send one out extra early when i met him at Chaddy on the first play test, dont think it worked

Im not even sure how long before the actual release we will get it, dont think they could let that kind of info out yet which is fair enough.

The last winner is announced one week before the likely release date. I'm assuming you'll probably get them on the Monday before release.

I was lucky enough to spend all 3 hours at the Chadstone play test today. One thing good was the all-time stats that appear on a scoreboard on the main menu. Also, they had the sound on low but was still able to hear the commentary. It really isn't as bad as people 1st said. Surely it could be better but like Ross said, There are many different names that they have to announce and do each name in multiple tones, that's a lot of different things to read out.
Another thing I found great was the realistic scorelines. In previous games, one of my biggest hates was that scores would be something like 14-2 against 17-1. At least with this game, there is never a certain goal (I know that after missing from 10 metres out, directly in front)

Yeah i reckon you're right. I think the last winner is set to be drawn this thursday?

Hopefully a weeks worth of playing will get me prepared for online battles:p

Very very jealous of all you guys who've had a chance to play for a bit.. Back to Seek to look for jobs in Vic I think ;)

i was at jb in chaddy too, me and a mate won 2/3 games, got used to it and i loved it..
i was in like a red/orange top with a hat :D

It is a tad odd that it seems we won't know a release date until it's on the verge of actually being released.

I guess it doesn't really matter as long as it receives promotion during the AFL telecast.

Last I'm going talk of release dates until I have a copy in my hand- as said we don't have a date, we are waiting for approval and pressing, then they will be immidiately shipped to retailers-any date given is a guess.

Btw at moonee valley, anyone got a tip? :)

I always bet on number 3 regardless of odds.

Bet on 3 for 8 races (not just horses) in a row and won 6 of them :D

yeah mate we played as the pies against ya in our first game.
then we play hawthorn v western bulldogs.

Not long got back from the Tote, i jumped on I Think I Do (in the 6th i think it was) came 4th, no help there lol:p

Off topic: got the trifecta just now, paid $110 must be an omen, I can now afford to buy a copy of AFL Live :)

Ross. after playing the game today i just want to say Thankyou for a great game. and i hope it sells well enough that you guys get the money to make further iterations.

it is obvious that the people making the game really care about having a good game. (regardless of the reasons they care). and by having the playtest you've probably made an extra 100+ preorders

And the 15th team is:

port.jpg

So the ladder so far is:

15 - Port Adelaide 36 78.12
16 - Brisbane 28 - 88.26%
17 - Gold Coast 16 - 62.97%

I know you aren't the only ones who create the teams, but who ever helped you with this one must be trollin'

The Port line up would be more like this

B: Surjan Carlile Chaplin
HB: P.Stewart Trengove Thomas
C: Pearce Cassisi Salopek
HF: Westhoff D.Stewart Kornes
F: Motlop Schulz Ebert
Fol: Brogan Boak Rodan

Int: Gray Hartlett Broadbent
Sub: C.Cornes

We wouldn't play Surjan, Logan and Kornes is the same defense, way too small.
Trengove and D.Stewart are our 2 most important KPP must be starting also our back up ruck options.
P. Stewart was our best young player last year and would definatly start in our defense.
Chad is past it now but is perfect for the Sub position (versatile and can make an impact coming on the ground).

Anyway thats just my opinion and you have done a great job so far so I wont complain, just have a bit of work to do when I get the game :p;)
