Really dude? You're annoyed your engagement party clashes with time to play a video game in a shopping center? Whats the legal age for marriage in Frankston nowadays??

I feel like I don't deserve this game, or this thread. I'm nowhere near as crazy as some of the dudes on here...

I think people are just having a bit of a joke on here mate. Chill out.

Can someone please confirm or deny that the most realistic way to play games (stats and score wise) is on Professional Difficulty with 5 minute quarters? This is the gist I've got so far, just like some confirmation.

An interesting article from games.on.net on developing persistent profiles in sports games from the industry leader EA Sports:

I can think of few cheaper resources in this world than out-dated sports games. Next time you're looking at building a house, why not consider ditching the bricks and mortar to build your next abode out of old copies of Madden '05? Your wallet will thank you. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with old sports games, but once the latest instalment hits shelves, you've got little reason to look back on the past. EA Sports are looking to change the game and make sure we don't forget the past, announcing that they will be introducing persistent player profiles in the near future.

Speaking at the MI6 video game marketing conference held in San Francisco, EA Sports president Peter Moore outlined what a persistent profile could mean for gamers. "We recognize [players] -- that's the persistence -- and their presence there gets its achievements and carries them from iteration to iteration," Moore explained "It's no longer 'buy Madden 11 and then buy Madden 12 and start from scratch,' it is 'take everything that you've done and migrate it and move it along'". The move would lead to a "connected experience" that would see the player rewarded for their continued loyalty and progress.

So when can we expect the system to debut? Moore remained hush-hush on naming any specific titles, but stated that the system is "not far away" and represents their vision of "the future of our industry".

I'd love to see something similar in AFL Live sequels, along with the ability to trade custom players, custom teams, custom uniforms, custom everything. Really promote the community side of things, which if BigFooty is anything to go by, is pretty significant :)

To those that have played the game,

is there any on field sound effects such as the sound of boot to ball etc.

If so, does it sound ok as opposed to a dull "thwack" as in previous titles?

Maybe there isnt anything apart from the crowd and commentry?

Cheers.

Do you know if there will be a launch store in Adelaide?

Nope

Only 2 in the country, Midland in WA and Northlands in Victoria

Just a final word on Big W... Just heard there is NO sale restriction on AFL live at the moment and is listed at $88.... So a reasonable price and a chance to get it early if u are lucky... However my brothers store is only getting 24 copies...but that's in the countries southern most state...and my brother has two heads...

24 copies? I truly never realised how little stock get Big W, Target K-mart etc get of games.

This is another reason why they sell stuff under cost price. They get 20 copies in, sell out and then everyone comes and price matches us.....They only lose minimal money as they get no stock

Big W also did it with the 3DS. Only got 18 of em in for a console launch in my centre!

Have just been told by @gameaus that $98 is their instore price also.

EB stores that are in a centre with a GAME store should also be doing this price off the shelf and you get the photo bonus too

I have it for $98 at mine

Seems hard to find an online price thats uber cheap.... all have been between 89 and 93...I dont think thats cheap enough to warrant a purchase when you can walk in and get it for $98 at a retailer at 9:00am in the morning

8:00am for the launch stores :D

How effective is the injury setting? For example if setting it on a higher level will it increase frequency of injuries or longer term injuries? How many settings for it are there?

I thought when you price match you don't get the preorder thing along with it? Ah well. I hope to perhaps pre order next Saturday. I'm confident they'll have enough still. If I get to doing it i'll just pre order it earlier, only have to chuck 10 down. Kinda expensive but I've played it and I know its worth it and happy to help support it for future versions.

Pumped up. Would probably cry if I missed out.

If I walk into JB Hi-Fi on the Thursday and they say there are no copies, I will probably hang myself.

Of course, I could always go to a host of different stores, but that would be too rational. :thumbsu:

It's late, I'm bored, nobody is here. I have a question for you people when you wake up from your sleepy sleeps - who on Xbox will give me my first online game? :)

I will. I'm Carlton* :p

* yes, I know I said you could have M&M Carlton :)

Another reason to pre-order and price match is if the stock is in the store and the street date gets broken then you will get the call to get down there and pick it up....
