I'm happy with you guys resetting the leaderboards, as long as its XP only and not W/L records. Maybe reset XP every month?
This would be magnificent. :thumbsu:

Some little award for the leader at the end of the month would be a nice touch.

I think a patch reset is definitely a good idea, and whatever else that people would like done in terms of resets and EXP should be looked at

Reset everything imo (and that's not just because I'm not high up either). It's basically a new game in a sense so why not get everyone back on a level playing field. All the W/L records won't look so distorted either with the new quitting system.

I like the idea of resetting them each month (they do that on NBA 2K11 I think) and then the top player at the end of the month gets a badge and/or some sort of prize.

I think you need to be able to see people's usernames pre-game so you know if they're far too good or if they're rage quitter's/cheaters. Also, you should be able to see if you'll be up against more than one person.

I had two games in a row against the same people. It was 2 or 3 people and they'd tackle me once I marked the ball, then bump me when I got up so the ball spilled out and it was play on. It's so ridiculous that you don't get paid 50m more often. Out of about 6 times, I only got paid 50m once. They would also stand in front of the mark so that they'd smother my shot for goal. I can't believe that it's not a 50m penalty when you've got someone standing 30cm from you.

It's in the patch.

As for resetting the leader boards, my heart says yes, but my head says no.

Yes, because it's only fair for the people who've had their stats reset by accident already and as others have said, it will be like a new game post-patch so bringing everyone back to an even playing field seems logical.

No, because I'm fifth on the leaderboard and with my work schedule lately, I'll never be able to make it back to the top :(

On another note - with the bug where you can block a set shot by standing next to the mark, maybe this is just my naivety regarding online gaming, but just because you can do it, why would anyone do it? Would you really get any satsifaction beating someone by taking advantage of a pretty major bug in the game? Personally I would feel like a massive dick if I did it in a competitive game.

agreeed. i dont play online against anyone i dont know because of this. SOOOO many people do it, and I really hope the patch addresses this.

The patch is addressing it. I believe it'll stop players from being able to enter your protected space around the mark.....I think? I'd probably prefer it to just penalize players who do it by awarding a 50 meter penalty against them for entering your protected space....but I don't think this is the case.

I think there is a 'bubble' around the player with the ball and players simply can not encroach this area. I'd love to see a 50 awarded instead.
I'd say there are no 50's going to be given for it due to there not wanting to be any accidental 50's given away at crucial moments in a match when you were maybe just selecting a player close and accidently ran over the mark.

As for the whole resetting of the leaderboards, I'm sort of on Illnino's train of thought. I've put a heap of time into it getting where I am and wouldn't like to suddenly be at ground zero again, top 10 in the world at a game has a nice ring to it.

As long as my stats (W/L, etc.) are still visible I wouldn't have too much issue, and it's going to be hard to ever grab no.1 spot right now being 200k behind!

Going to out myself as a quitter, however I feel I was justified each time.

First time was because of terrible gameplay. For instance running into your F50 only to have the game freeze then have the ball back in your opponents F50 scoring easy goals or breaking away from the centre to have the ball magically appear in your opponents hands going the other way or better yet having them mark the ball behind the goals but be awarded the mark. Not going to put up with that shit.

Second time was obviously playing against multiple opponents and don't really mind it, even if I'm getting beaten I'll stick it out as long as they are playing fair. However on this occassion after getting back to 7 points down from being 36 down they decided to start cheating, i.e. when running into my F50 for a shot on goal a player behind the play would get tackled and the free kick would go back to where it happened. After doing this 3 successive times I decided that rather than give them the win I would rather quit. I would rather get smacked by 100 points having played a fair game than to just lose to clowns who can't win legitimately.

Sounds like lag on your internet

I've had this happen numerous times. Its not necessarily lag on your end, can be the opponents connection. If the data packets being transmitted get lost or the ping time drops significantly the play can easily be different on players screens. The game then seems to adjust, most likely based on the first updated packet it receives.

You win some, you lose some in this case but it generally is caused by some activity happening on a connection.

The thing is it might happen to you and nobody else at one point. I was third in the world and am now at ground zero, and it sucked
edit: which also means i can see where you are coming from too

First game back and I get a two-on-one typical dog bumping session. Still flogged them by 41-points, including a nice 5-goal run where he didn't touch the ball.

It's sad to say that one of my favourite game is supported by dog players.

Everytime I check my stats on the leaderboards I worry that they will have been wiped.

It'd just about end my love for the game, putting so many hours in for it all to be wiped in an instant. That's my trepidation for not really wanting it to be wiped as it is now, I've put a heap of hours in and for those that haven't, I sort of just say 'tough shit'. I realise how much it'd suck though if you had put all that work in and for whatever reason the game wipes them, but tbh I'd rather punish nobody than punish all by wiping them.

Personally, I think if you're going to wipe them, it needs to be done on a consistent basis. It'd be completely unfair imo to just wipe it once because of the patch and not do it again.

Monthly would be fine for me. Could live with that.

Yeah probably but at least I was nice and waited until the 4th quarter to allow the other person to get the win.
