Like I've said before if Andy D. gave the developers some cash to work on a game to rival FIFA or Madden,then the Greedy one would make more money than he gave and in turn promote our game around the world.

For Port Adelaide, shouldn't "Thomas Jones" be spelled "Thomas Jonas"?
A funny thing has happened - even though I've only improved by about 5- 10% over the past few weeks something has clicked when I play on legend and I find I'm now starting to win by 6 - 10 goals on average. I might be crazy, but it seems to get a lot easier if you can get out to a 2 - 3 goal lead in the first quarter, haven't had a team claw back a deficit for quite a while. The dumbest things I see the AI do definitely appears to occur when I'm a long way in front. ( I know the AI is programmed to make mistakes under pressure, but it can seem to go to extreme lengths sometimes)
My personal fave is when from the defensive 50 you clear to a wing and lose your man. From there I notice it's possible to run in a 'pocket of invisibility' where the opposition focuses on manning up rather than tackling you. A couple of times recently have been able to run from the wing to the top of the goal square without sprinting. It's bizarre. Fun, but bizarre.
Anyway, hopefully online remains semi-healthy over summer. Here's hoping.

I played well over the last week, however i took a break on sunday, resumed yesterday and i lost my rhythm and wound up losing 3 games in a row, before i got back on the winners circle.
I need to practice the kick in a lot more, when i played back in April and began mastering it in May. I got the hang of it, and was able to kick the ball back in play, and keep posession of it until i reached my forward 50 where i either a) coughed up the ball via a tackle or a rucking contest gone wrong or b) mistiming the final kick of the ball and getting a point or missing everything and out on the full.
Now that i have got back into the game, all i seem to be able to do is kick directly at the man on the mark OR kick to a leading player, only for the opposing player to beat my team mate to the ball, mark and then have a shot at goal.
Finished my H&A season, could have finished as high as third, due to the matches that i lost i had to make to with 6th. I found the brownlow results interesting, Mitchell finished second. When i was playing match by match, he wasn't very influential in the result - almost went unnoticed, Burgoyne was my main midfielder that would kick arse in every game

Roughead won the Coleman medal with Osborne second and Buddy Franklin third. I found that interesting considering Osborne was probably my most consistent scorer, while Roughead would have huge games (4+ goals), but ultimately would go quiet for many matches, or score 1-2 goals if lucky. While Franklin would get the occasional loose ball goal (soccer off the ground), or score after getting free kick along the 50m line.

Not happy at all. I spent a while building up a 10 game winning streak, went to play another game, got to the team management screen-the phone rang so i left before the game started and i get a LOSS and my reliability rating takes a hit. That is bullshit

Forget that previous post, my ps3 had a fit and died 
I posted that straight after it happened but turns out i got the loss because it was frozen on the team selection page but had actually 'gone into the game' so to speak and the ps3 beeped. When i got back from the phone it looked all fine except for my loss of the streak when i checked the leader board and the ps3 beeped receptively again and said the system was hot blah blah blah the fan had kicked the bucket.

I hate that. My first PS3 overheated because there wasn't enough ventilation in the cabinet. It was 5 weeks old and I only got a refurb replacement from Sony (second hand model), was mighty p*ssed, I was five days outside the replacement window.
Noobish question - can I download the patch even if I don't have xbox live and where can I find it???

You dont need live do you? just need to be connected to the net, software patches are free of charge and should download when you run the game. (Spoken by someone who has never owned an xbox so could be fair off the mark)

Have I missed something? Is the new patch out?
Just finished a new season and i was surprised with the brownlow results:
1st was Franklin on 31
2st was Ryan Griffin on 24
3rd was Burgoyne on 23
Was not expecting Franklin at all as i was expecting Burgoyne to win it playing through the middle. Franklin wasn't even my leading goal scorer it was roughead on 77 while Franklin was on 72.

I don't think I've ever had a player other than my centre half forward win the Brownlow.

it's all wrapping, no present. if you don't care about frame rate and crashing then you can have all the graphics you want, especially if you also don't care about gameplay - that sucks big time in rugby challenge, it is absolute sh*t - not worth buying. I used the EB 7 day return policy on day 3 to get a credit towards FIFA 2012.
I hope they improve the graphics on AFL Live but mostly the gameplay - far more important than pretty freaking cut-scenes....
I really dont wont to create a custom side of champs but I want to get a long winning streak. I always start builing it up with West Coast and then come up against these awesome teams.So sick of Custom sides. Maybe we could get an update where we can play as Victoria or All Stars, that way I wont have to destroy all my afl sides and only play them when have to.

Mate i just back out of every game when some DB picks a custom team, then you get real "smart" ones that 'select' a genuine afl side, then quickly switch to their custom one when you press ready....idiots, lol.
It becomes annoying because you can be waiting for up to 20 mins to play a game vs a real team, but i just open up the computer, do part of an assignment or come on here if it takes a while. Rather that than play people who are too shit at the game that they need to make a custom team. No offence to anyone here, i know some people only make them because of the amount of custom teams out there, i made one once and kept it for about 2 days, i didn't like it, prefer winning with the pies.
Anyway, the worst is when people make teams with people that don't exist. theres a dude called jacass99 or something like on psn that and he is the biggest tool. All his players are "H. Forward" or "F Back"...you get the idea, avoid this guy it'll be the most frustrating game you'll ever play coz his players have 99 speed and 99 marking and everything else is low. It's painful and boring.

^ +1 to the avoid jacass99 (or however you spell it) call... even his defenders were consistently outmarked my forwards, even when I went to spoil (although I was Gold Coast at the time) and he was running down the clock on set shots when he was 6 goals up halfway through the last quarter. Avoid.

Yeah I played that guy. Not sure what his trick is, but his players are super quick and completely unplayable.
I don't get how these people have fun by creating these teams. The best games are the closest ones, and I'd much prefer to lose by 5 goals and having a challenge rather than winning by 15 goals every game in an unfair advantage.

Lol at the ppl that have had the same experience as me! How on earth do you manage to beat him?
I've played him 3 times, won once JUST, lost closely in another and got spanked in another coz he piled goals on at the end. I also have tried spoiling his defenders to no avail. And also phase away the running the clock thing was the worst, he's figured out that if you make it and wait to be called to 'move on' then he goes into goal kicking mode and the shot clock resets so he waits again until move on appears then kicks it! Never playing him again
