Re: New AFL Video Game - 360, PS3 & PC - Part 9 - READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING

Ross, do you know if they've slimmed 'Buddy' down since the screenshot was placed on here.
I only ask, because the original screenshot here, he looks chunky like Mal Michael, and I want my Buddy lean and mean.
I don't care as long as he can run down the wing on the G taking on Essendon players and goal ;)

People who are doubting the decision to leave press until this point, need to remember that HES do what they do, because they know what they are doing, and know the games industry

I would back the judgment regarding release of information of HES, before some on this forum

Re: New AFL Video Game - 360, PS3 & PC - Part 9 - READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING

It may or may not be right. The game will sell anyway and I'll enjoy it flaws & all.
If it's so right, why do we know so much about the Wii version? Are they doing that all wrong because they've less expenditure to re-coup for wicked witchs effort?
Bit of a contradiction, the difference in their 2 titles and what we know about them.

Games aren't about us here on a footy forum, lets take what the general public are allowed to know through released info.

TRU BLU - PS3/360/PC --- Nothing
TRU BLU - Wii - Info to stores before Christmas (December EB catalogue) with now proven accurate features, game modes etc...

-Commenting on it may seem like it bothers me or that I disagree with one strategy or another but I'm not really fussed how they do it. Just surprised at their stance.
Majority of other publishers shed info early & do fine. Now, granted - majority aren't releasing an AFL game to a niche market but as mentioned above, they're also releasing the Wii title and info is out there.
Ross has said that some of the stuff he'd said & shown on here had got him in a little trouble or that it didn't go down to well, but when you're the boss :p:p:p, so thanks to him we know something.

makes sense, maybe released nab cup grand final/ round 1 and they have trials outside etihad, trailers in ground all to market the game
I reckon the AFL would have a struggle on their hands with who'd get the bigger crowd.
Playable gaming set ups outside the stadium competing with NAB GF.:D

Re: New AFL Video Game - 360, PS3 & PC - Part 9 - READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING

Its actually a myth that there is more info on the Wii game
Its just that there was a surge of info about the Wii game, that made it look like more, but over the journey (since 2008 for AFL) i would say equal ammounts of info have been released

Re: New AFL Video Game - 360, PS3 & PC - Part 9 - READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING

I reckon the only real thing to come out of the last few threads was the info about the 3rd trophy/achievement that we now know about & that Ross confirmed.
Not much more can be asked which is why most of us have been rather quiet... A drawn out waiting game. I'm only posting cos there was little on TV, night is warm, not tired, CBF playin any games....:footy:

Don't know what the point of the trial stuff is, wouldn't like it too much imo.

Release videos and we'll love it

Agreed. Timing is everything, it's the issue of a drip feed or the "big bang"... comments that there is more info on the AFL Wii game vs the PS3/X360/PC game only support the theory that you should hold off all info until the game is closer to release. I also think the issue is that we have some stuff in ours that is not in the Wii version and vice versa, they complement each other well and are for different audiences (or player "experiences"). Not only have I told people what is in the game, I have also said what isn't - this is always going to be a risky move.

We are working on screeshots and video. We have done the "back of box" feature list. I have done another interview with Jason Hill, not sure when that will hit the media but he saw the game and seemingly was impressed (I'll guess we'll know if he was when we see what he writes :) )

PS: Moving to a new thread always throws me out... at the tennis on the iPhone thinking wow everyone's left for the Wii thread :)

Re: New AFL Video Game - 360, PS3 & PC - Part 9 - READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING

Are there injury ratings for players or are injuries random?

What is the worst injury in the game and how long is it?

Predictions: Broken legs, Torn ACL's, torn quadraceps. I would assume the type of injuries that typically keep the real players out of action.

Ross quoted to me that you can make abundantly overweight players like Strauchanie but I would assume that means you can also make them as small as Jarryd Blair, who stands 1 metre 65.

Viral type. Beat a bigant employee or someone who has in an online game.
Could be hard. Bigant staff have their games/office pride on the line.
No employee there will be keen to be the first one to lose to us & they also have a headstart on the controls/gameplay. Imagine the inter-office ribbing you'd cop if you had the first up loss. It will happen eventually though so all in good fun.

Perhaps ANT could add this trophy/achievement to the FAQ/Info thread

165cm? I always thought that he was around the 170-175cm mark.

This, I don't know where you got 165 from AD4, Collingwood's website has him measured at 174cm.

Question that Ross may or may not be able to answer

How did you guys decide the "default squad" for each team, and the standard 22
One thing about the old games that annoyed me, was i had to constantly change the 22, to make it realistic (and so Andrew McDougall wasnt playing full forward)

Re: New AFL Video Game - 360, PS3 & PC - Part 9 - READ FAQ BEFORE POSTING

I really hope that you can change the default squad and not just for your own team but other teams as well.

this. plus in the old games, changing the teams around took a while and was a pain in the ass.

I really hope that you can change the default squad and not just for your own team but other teams as well.

Hopefully bigant follow the lead of the madden franchise.

By creating the team rosters as they go and if there are team(roster) changes they release a team roster update ( the main reason that they do this is for the online aspect of the game. So you always play with the current roster of the team you choose to play with).

This will make things easier for online gameplay and people who like to change and fiddle with team line-ups.
