Question for Ross...and something a little different for once.

Has Good Game (ABC) been in touch to review or preview the game? i noticed on their last episode last year they listed a heap of games coming out for 2011, but AFL wasn't one. That surprised me, being a local product that will attract all AFL supporters.

I'm guessing the coverage from that program will also help to boost sales.

New to bigfooty. Awesome info here on the game. So pumped.

Question for Ross: What things did you guys at BigAnt learn from the previous AFL games? eg. Which camera angles worked/didn't, game physics engine and so forth. Did you guys use these as a starting point on what to/not to do?

We are fundamentally different with our approach - we have a mantra to have as few wipes as possible (that's camera changes and resetting of players) which is the opposite of the previous games, which I have to say that it was disorienting.

With regard to everything else we designed and wrote it from the gound up.

Certainly, by playing a game of AI vs AI :p

(otherwise not)

Surely simply changing the color of the players name can indicate who you are controlling or somthing under the player like a ring would be better than the arrow (assuming thats what the arrow is for)

When you have players running all over the place, especially when you have more than 4 human players, it's too hard in an instant to recognise them by colour on a name. Player switching also is a hassle. We tried many combinations to work out what worked best.

Whoa! What a day for AFL Live, EB, BigAnt and these forums! Those new screens look amazing (especially the one where Wellingham is OWNNING Judd....sorry Ross!)

Someone asked a question if you can have long sleeve tops in the game, I think thats definitely a good question...care to answer Ross? ;)

Ey Rossco

Any chance that the BigFooty session to come down to BigAnt Studios and have a go of the game is back on at all? With the SMH guy coming down and being able to play, plus the game obviously being a lot close to release than previously, now would seemingly be close to the best chance to get a go of it.

So, any possibility of it going ahead?

Albert Proud from the Lions was sacked today will that mean he will be taken out of the game or were the team lists given earlier in the year so who ever was on them is included?

Another question on top of my previous post, are you aware of any special edition version coming out, with bonus packaging etc, that would be sweet

highly doubt it Ross, I don't think Darwin knows that yet. Can you just tell me if we are going to get a Freo Screenie? If not, I'll have to wait

I've done 40+ screenshots - there are a few very good Freo ones - when the time comes I'll be giving them to Glenno for his store (I'm sure he might share them with you :) )

I am hoping it will but I can't promise anything. The hardest part will be picking the particpants, we would want a cross-section of avid gamers to noobs to see how people fare.

Ant and Galon (Galon could probably go if he's located in Melbourne - should Ant not be able to make it down from QLD) would no doubt be able to pick a nice cross-section of players.

From the looks of this thread the n00bs wouldn't be hard to pick at all.;):D

James Stewart would be my no.1 pick.

even though its not a real huge thing, the socks kind of bother me. mainly because some players will look odd with socks up. i think theyd be just as important as having the 2011 fixture each year or a random one...
but other than that im so excited :)
will judd be in any of these new screens? apart from the eb one, one so we can see his face?

I was going to say you would be a worthy candidate to attend (not as a noob), but I think James Stewart is definitely more deserving, with his insider status and all.

I agree in the next version no F***ing arrows. you cant really get mixed up because you know which team your playing as.
