question guys. new to betting, using sportsbet.. just wanted to know about free bets. anyone try and win them? they've got comps going on facebook. Tonight for instance is pick the winner and leading goal scorer, and apparently all you do is comment on it and you win it? is this how it works..

Yep, pretty simple - used to be much easier before they got so popular though! :D

Alright cheers, just seems a bit simple is all.
So if I were to win the 25 dollar free bet tonight, does the whole 25 need to be bet on something (anything?) before I can withdraw or continue to bet with it?

Absolutely love your tips week in week out. Made me alot of money last week ;)
I'm curious about your Unit limit? I understand the concept completely but was wondering if you go over 6U ever? I assume that is your limit.. I ask because my limit is 10 meaning 10= a lock bet.

Keep up the great work!

Doubt it. Cox will only be up against Wood and probably Dawes. He could easily get 40+ hitouts by himself.

Love this...anyone else think that cox to be highest scoring DT ruckman of the round at $3 is overs? goldstein still has to beat seaby, who was pretty effective last year before mummford started dominating

Sydney under 39.5
Richmond -16
geelong over 39.5
hawks win
blues win
eagles +51.5 line

$20 @ 8.86

considering chucking $5 on an over and under 39.5 multi

carlton over
sydney under
fremantle under
geelong over
richmond over
adelaide under
collingwood under
hawthorn under

@ 412 = $2060

Glad to hear it!

Re my units, I don't use the 1-10 scale most here do - basically at the start of the year I based one unit as around 1.25% of my bank, and so I put 2 units on where I think a team should be favourites, 1 unit where I think they should be between $2 & $6, and 0.5 units where I think they should be over $6. This is if the actual odds are greater than my odds, of course. 0.5 units per game for most goals (that I flirted with a different system for a couple of rounds but went back to the 0.5 per game after about round 4)

It wasn't a round figure though and after I started having things like 1/6 of a unit on some most goals bets I basically divided my units by 3 which is why there's now 6, 3 and 1.5 unit bets.

Hope that makes sense

His last two against Collingwood have been 71 and 91, which is by no means outstanding. Having said that WCE is a much improved side since these scores for sure and this time it will be against different opposition (Jolly > Wood).

Just thought I'd give ya a bit to think about as I nearly took that too but decided against it.

My bet for tonight
This one was $1.7 when it opened but has tightened up.

Tipster: The Oracle
Event: Melbourne V Carlton (MCG)
Date of Event: 27-05-2011
Time of Event: 19:40
Sport: AFL
Tip: Mark Murphy to have more DT points than Chris Judd
Odds: $1.57
Units: 7
Sportsbook: Centrebet
Comments: With Judd carrying an injury and Murphy averaging 7 more anyway. This is a good bet.

1U on Carlton -32.5 at $1.90

Got a feeling Carlton will give Melbourne a lesson tonight..

1U on Adam Goodes most goals at $10.

Will spend most his time in the forward line for this match.
