For those asking what changes will apply to AFL Members at Etihad Stadium now the AFLhas taken ownership, I'd suggest little to none. As far as I'm aware, the only discussions have been around integrating AFL Premiership Club members into Medallion Club.

BTW, for some reason my auto renewal didn't roll over this year. The reason I was given is because I was upgraded to full membership, the amounts were different & if I wanted to continue on auto renewal, I had to stipulate that prior to November 28. Since I'd been on auto renew for 8 years already, I didn't think I'd have to do that but it seems I do. Anyway, no harm done, I'll still get my card in plenty of time for round one but not in November/December like some of you already have.

Pretty sure an AFL owned stadium will look after their own (AFL members). Yes, it is that simple.

I think the recent poor form of Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood had helped move people up the list - especially with Essendon fans disillusionment with the governance of the AFL may have seen more of their supporters drop off to become club members to financially support the club over the AFL.

Anyone able to renew without opting in for that ******* AFL Advance Upfront? I don't want these mutts to take my cash automatically but I can't see how to do this online

I never pay until closer to the season and never once have I done auto renewal yet they have tried to do it. Only reason they couldnt was my credit card they must have on record expired a few months ago. Feel like its a bit of a con TBH to renew straight away, I'll pay when im ready.

My missus had the exact same situation as you.

They sent a card out and did the exact same stuff. Dodgy bastards

Yep, same as me. Never remembered auto-renewing but it came out of my account; terrible timing because it was the day my rent was due...

It did work out well though - I'm not a student anymore but they charged me the concession rate. I'll take that and just keep bluffing with a dodgy old uni card.

Pretty sure it was about $550 last year and closer to $500 the year before. They trying to price people out? if they want to charge as much as the MCC they need to start providing free entry to GF

I think I paid $590 last season for a full membership.
Previous year was around $575.
It's $600 this year.
They will keep increasing every year.

This off season has been a series of stuff ups from the membership team after 8 years of seamless transition from season to season.

Firstly, my auto repayment didn't come out on November 28th. I called to alert them to it & they first denied it & said sometimes there's a few days lag between between the payment date & it being reflected by the bank.

A week later I got an overdue notice on my first payment. I rang to sort out & membership said that it was an admin error on their part as my full member upgrade had happened during the year & I had to authorise an increased monthly payment, but I was never informed of this, therefore hadn't done it.

The next error was an email sent saying "It's your game in 2017" Welcome to your silver membership. I didn't think anything of it so let it slide.

Then I get another email just prior to Christmas saying that a $10 administrative fee was overdue and required urgent attention. So I called the team & after 15mins on hold they deduct the fee & say everything is on track.

On Tuesday I rang to enquire about my dad becoming a member & once I got that info I then asked about on sale dates & when member cards would arrive.

The guy seemed surprised I hadn't received it yet. I told him there was no stress, I was only curious as to when it might arrive. He said he'll call me back in a moment. I haven't heard back yet & a quick look at my account profile last night still has last seasons barcode linked to my account.

I realise there's still plenty of time before the season & I'll still be looked after for the pre season comp regardless of whether the card arrives or not but when I recall the whole series of events as opposed to previous seasons of things going like clockwork...

Should I be concerned?

Can someone tell me why a health care card is not acceptable as a form of concession? Pretty galling considering I've been with people who have used those cards to get concession rates. It is a bit of a joke.

This is my second year and the have ****ed me around both times, horrible customer service. I payed in November and still haven't received it.

Anyone else seen the MCG seating arrangements? I know for a fact I've been able to get N17 onwards in the past, but if I'm reading this right, then they've screwed AFL Membership seating to fit in "AFL Bays", whatever that means - but it doesn't look like seats we can book.

So now Level N is almost out of the equation. Correct me if I'm wrong - I understand there's 20? seats per row, and 11 rows per bay. This equates to around 1,320 seats allocated to "AFL Bays" that I know I could book previously (unsure about N15 and N16)

Etihad still is the worst deal around for AFL members. These seats are also given to club members. I don't know why they couldn't also grant some L3 Premium as AFL Reserve allocated from on-sale.

This in addition to the Bronze additions plus the decision not to remember the Guest Pass screwing of the system... AFL Members look like they're getting less and less value for money.

Of course I could be over-reacting if my facts above are wrong, but I don't think I'm wrong.

It was $140 or something.

I mean it's still smart to keep your waiting list number and even your membership, as they keep up the threat to phase out new sign-ups. But it'd be nice to get something. Ah well, it's still better than signing up again and paying another 250-plus-bucks.
