Ok, that was torture.

Took me forever to even get through and ended up with 2 x Q21 which is great as it's dead centre of the MCG, but row W which is a little disappointing.

But better than missing out! This was by far the hardest non GF I've ever tried to purchase.

You're up in the clouds with the rest of us. Worst seats to the footy in years, but at least we'll be there.

Why is there a queue online though? Is it because many people have multiple browsers, plus phones, all online at the same time? Not sure if there is an easy solution, maybe go back to having to line up at physical outlets again?
So that only a set number of people are transacting at the same time. If you have too many in at once the system becomes unreliable and ends up crashing. Better to have fewer people in at the same time and it running smoothly once you are in. Ultimately, even if they had a flawless system that let a million people buy at the same time, the same number of people would still miss out.

You can still go to physical outlets, but unless you're near the front of that queue you will miss out as well.

Last year AFL Members were only allocated approximately 15,500 seats in the AFL Reserve for the GF.

http://s.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL ...nd Final ticket allocation report for CAV.pdf

AFL Entitlements/Contractual Obligations
Actual - 16,228
Range - 5,000 – 30,000

AFL Members
Actual - 15,456
Actual Actual - 13634 (AFL Members via Ticketek (13493 seats + 141 standing))
Range - 13,000 - 23,000

No surprise "AFL Entitlement" come out on top and AFL Reserve are worse off.

Clear to see AFL members are going to have extremely tough times in a few years when that actual reduces to 13k and Entitlement hits 20k.

Full AFL member, tried to get 2 tickets finally got in at 9.20 chose best avail and got top deck row x bay 23, so who got all the good seats? Maybe they prefer silver members who pay much more for their tickets!

From my experience over the last 3 weeks, it seems you need to get through the queue before 9:05 for Level 2A and 9:15 for Level 1.

If you read the appendixes ... it says that there was 13634 tickets for ordinary AFL Members via Ticketek (13493 seats + 141 standing)

+ 472 for dining

But there was another 4,952 tickets given to others in the AFL reserve...And I bet none of them were up on Level 4...

This is surely the reason why AFL Gold is now so hard to get.

They are reducing the Full Member numbers to cater for corporate flogs

Exactly, Essendon supporters on absentee memberships and high retention rates does not explain how it can go from a couple of thousands to a couple of hundred. There is no transparency it is an absolute joke!

They won't even release the breakdown of Gold/Silver by club of support.

Because the numbers will be dwindling.

All i can live off is the 2013 numbers we saw back then.

Man a Richmond Collingwood GF...most Gold members would miss out. FML

Did they end up capping the Silver Members which they discussed a couple of years back? Gonna make it harder and harder to get finals tickets if the Silver Members list keeps increasing. Maybe the payoff is they don't get discount to any finals instead of just Prelims.
