I think there is a gentleman's agreement not to be obstructionist over players who want to move.

On that note, Hannah Ewings just got traded to the Crows for pick 39.

I know she's had some issues in recent seasons, but if she can get back even close to her talent level that's a bargain.

Melbourne got an amazing deal for Lily Mithen. Darcy Moloney for pick 22 is probably line ball.

All the others were headed for the scrap heap, except Levy. But what do you expect for 7.7 turnovers--sorry, touches--per game.

When will free agency be introduced to aflw?

Comp has gone long enough where there would be players eligible

They already have something of a free agency situation in the league:

A restricted free agency period will run alongside the trade period from Wednesday, December 4 until Thursday, December 11. During this time, only certain players can move clubs. A player who has previously been signed on a one-year deal and is offered another one-year deal by the same club but at a lower payment tier than the previous contract is considered to be a restricted free agent. If another club offers this player a payment at or above their previous payment tier, the player is able to move to that club as a restricted free agent during this window.

Some of the trades seem odd. Senior players traded for moving a pick in the 50s up a handful of spots.

This will relate to the previous mentioned gentleman's agreement to not stand in the way of player movement the way they might in men's, and the lack of many options in the trade space.

Each club has a relative handful of picks, so structuring fair deals to accommodate players choices becomes difficult.

So, I wonder how long until they start incorporating future picks in AFLW trade deals.

GWS had no leverage with Nicola Barr, refer to post directly above yours. Nothing to do with an imaginary kumbaya agreement.

Harris, Yassir and Scott moves all kiboshed in the same tradition of the Bulldogs forcing Kim Rennie to the draft.
