West Coast indigenous, via the socials. Gold, in more ways than one!

Melbourne in red shorts tonight and Essendon in red shorts tomorrow night would be good, but don't think they'll bother given there's no jumper clash with Collingwood (wearing their white/indigenous jumper) and Hawthorn.

Guessing PA will wear their home jumper with black shorts, so that's gonna look pretty bad.

Was looking to do this on AFL 23 but that game is just great...

Not to fond of all the guernseys and shorts available for teams but i'll just have a good guess

Weekly Predictions:

Melbourne: Home/Navy V Collingwood: Clash (Indigenous)/Black

Carlton: Home/Navy V Gold Coast: Home/Red
Adelaide: Home/Navy V Port Adelaide: Clash (Teal)/Black
Geelong: Home/Navy V Western Bulldogs: Home/Blue
Hawthorn: Home/Brown V Essendon: Home/Black

North Melbourne: Home/Blue V St Kilda: Home/Black
Brisbane: Home/Maroon V Richmond: Clash/Black
Sydney: Home/Red V GWS: Clash (NS)/Charcoal
Fremantle: Home/Purple V West Coast: Clash (Indigenous)/Blue

I'm pretty sure West Coast and Collingwood's clashes are indigenous jumpers, can't remember about Richmonds.

Pies looking good in white with black shorts, old school look.

Have all of the teams shorts colours been confirmed, e.g. do Essendon, St Kilda etc have red shorts?
I believe we will probably see:

Adelaide: Navy
Brisbane: Maroon
Carlton: Navy
Collingwood: Black
Fremantle: Purple
Essendon: Black
Geelong: Navy
Gold Coast: Red (Maybe grey or blue)
GWS: Charcoal
Hawthorn: Brown
Melbourne: Navy and Royal
North: Royal
Port: Black
Richmond: Black
St Kilda: Black
Sydney: Red and Grey
West Coast: Royal
Bulldogs: Royal

Basically each team is probably going to have 1 pair of shorts, only Melbourne, Gold Coast and Sydney would need other shorts to truly take out a clash

Why don't they have teal shorts?
I'm not sure if they do or don't have teal shorts. But if PA are ok with wearing teal in a showdown, they could just wear their teal clash jumper, and then it wouldn't really matter what shorts they wear.

Hopefully last night proved the world doesn’t cave in when you have two teams wearing dark shorts against each other. It’s the tops that should differentiate, not the bottoms. I’d love for this to be the catalyst to phase white shorts out of the AFL (as a rule)

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but what’s the story with no white shorts in AFLW
For better comfort and confidence of the players rather than wearing white shorts.
The topic isnt exclusive to AFLW, have a quick google of Wimbledon's all white policy for women

It's interesting how Port wear teal and Essendon are wearing effectively a black sash on red in AFLW. Both good, commonsense designs. Kinda delegitimises the respective arguments around their mens teams' jumpers.
