I rarely spend time trying to work out who should get the votes, but in my opinion, Tess Craven, was arguably our most valuable player for much of the first three quarters.

Ran to a position to receive that pass from Jas and kicked our first goal, to perhaps steady the nerves and set us on our way, and then took some very timely intercept marks after that.

Just my opinion.

1st Quarter - Kearney
2nd Quarters - Wright
3rd Quarter - Garner
4th Quarter - Garner

3 - Garner
2 - Kearney
1 - Wright
This is so good.

Sorry its been so long. Took me all week to get thru the replay and all it did was confirm my initial thoughts. But on the night and during the replay that's exactly how my thinking went for who was BOG.

So same for me.

Final votes for the year, after our inaugural AFLW GF win, to finish the season unbeaten.

Jammin' - 58 votes. Brisbane are renowned as a strong finishing fit side so when everyone expected them to show something Jammin' just destroyed them.
Captain Kearns - 34 votes. Set the tone early, BOG after the first quarter and led us brilliantly.
Sarah Wright - Absolute rock down back. Under rated player generally but she stood up when it mattered. BFNAAK!!!!
AO'L - 8 votes. Best small forward all year. Three goals in a GF. Fantastic game.
Tess Craven - 6 votes. Was maybe our most important player on the night in crucial moments. You all saw what she did. Legend.
Ash Riddell and Emma King both got 2 votes each and the beauty of this game was how even the contributions were across the field. So many players I can think of who didn't get votes and I nearly had them in my top three.

So the final votes for the GF were:

5 (and BOG) - Jasmine Garner.
4 - Emma Kearney.
3 - Sarah Wright.
2 - Alice O'Loughlin.
1 - Tess Craven.

Congrats to the whole side and everyone in the off field team as well.

The BF B&F for the NMFC AFLW side 2024.

60 - Jasmine Garner.
46 - Ash Riddell.
21 - Mia King.
17 - Alice O'Loughlin.
12 - Emma Kearney.
11 - Ruby Tripodi.
10 - Bella Eddey.
10 - Kate Shierlaw.
8 - Libby Birch.
7 - Vikki Wall.
5 - Tess Craven.
3 - Sarah Wright.
2 - Amy Smith.
2 - Erika O'Shea.
1 - Taylah Gatt.
1 - Niamh Martin.
1 - Kim Rennie.

Congratulations to the whole side on their amazing season and in particular to Jammin' for yet another fantastic year of footy.

And since you asked...

These are our best players across the finals series.

Jasmine Garner - 15.
Ash Riddell - 6.
Bella Eddy - 4.
Emma Kearney - 4.
Mia King - 3.
Ruby Tripodi - 3.
Vikki Wall - 3.
Sarah Wright - 3.
Alice O'Loughlin - 2.
Libby Birch - 1.
Tess Craven - 1.

Only Jaz, Ash and Vikki scored votes in more than one game, only Jaz in all 3 and she was BOG for each of them (altho Kearns only played one game properly.) Such a strong finish to the season for Jammin'. We are so lucky to have her playing for us.

Its a very even spread across the votes and fantastic the number of young players who earned votes by stepping up in finals. Ruby and BF's own Bella Eddey both got four votes behind Garner in finals wins, leading the way as young players. Augurs well for the future.

(Edit) Its probably worth mentioning that Vikki Wall didn't get a vote in the GF but still kicked two goals, second highest scorer for the game and outscored the opposition off her own boot. Despite the votes I think its between her and Ash for our second best finals performer and Vikki just pips her but that's just IMO. The board has spoken.

And that thing with Brikki got me thinking - who kicked the most goals in the finals series?

Chelsea Randall kicked five for the Crows as did Gemma Houghton for Port. Dakota Davidson kicked four for the Lions.

Vikki (3,2) and AOL (2,3) kicked five each in the last two finals to finish with five as well.

Four way tie for highest scorer in the finals series and they all played three games.

A few others kicked three goals including Kate Shierlaw and Talia Randall for us.

Great work Ferbs, thanks for keeping it going all year.

Interesting how our one lined up with the clubs. Without going back to look at it I think Mia King is rated much higher by us but the rest I feel is pretty close.
Cheers. It was so enjoyable doing the women's season compared to the mens. LOL.

That is our official club top ten in the link above.

They're very similar. Sarah Wright obviously highly rated by the club but not this board. Kearns got a better run with us but I suspect thats because of the limitations in our voting system.

Apart from those two five of the top six are the same and the only difference in order for those five is AOL and Ruby.

Outstanding ferball and, from the dark recesses of our online existence, we salute you.

Many thanks for another year of vote tallying in both the M and W competitions. We are extremely grateful mate.

I’m sure we all look forward to the day both sides salute in the same year now.

Great job! 👏 👏 👏

2026/7 hopefully.

Thanks mate.

I enjoyed it, tho the mens was a bit difficult during those last two rounds.

Hopefully next year the teams are closer.

I'm tipping Vikki had the most shots on goal in the finals and by a fair margin. She was wayward in the Adelaide game with a few misses, especially in the last qtr. And in the grand final, she hit the post with one kick, had another touched on the line, and another still which sailed out on the full from close range. She could have had 5 goals in a grand final! That's not meant as criticism but to show what a presence she was in the forward line throughout the finals.

Yeah. She made things happen.

According to our votes Vikki was seventh best player for the finals series but she was top three for mine.

🤣 Our voting system seems to work like Capitalism. Garner ended up a multiple of 29 times better than Ash!

Did anyone have any luck getting the poster to download to your phone? Am looking you get one printed on poster paper to go next too the Roosistence in the media room.

I could get off my a** and do it on the laptop, but I'm in me comfy chair with a full belly of Xmas food!

Apart from all the other upsides, a premiership is the final brushstroke needed to declare a gun player as a champion.

As good as Jasmine has been, in time, years after retirement her reputation might've been capped by the team's failure to bring it home.

Not now. She's the gun player who brought her influence into finals and won on the ultimate stage. It's done.

She is truly the best - in every way.
