Do the new traded in players count in the up to 22 signings during the trade period? Or can we re-sign 22 and add the three we've added?
The 22 includes traded in players and re-signings but we may only go with the 19 we have to date and focus on free agency and the draft to fill the remaining spots

Does Guest count in the five not re-signed or must we go in with five spaces on the list?

She's a traded player so no longer with us and at the minute there are 11 girls from our 2017 list that remain unsigned and even if we don't re-sign any of them by today's deadline we still may redraft some of them when the draft kicks off in October.

It's a shame Jess Bibby retired, loved her grit
I know she gave a very strong indication in March that she would likely retire, but has there been any formal announcement? Probably missed it.

Would be great to have her stick around the club when the season nears. She could even help out with being a runner, if not work with the conditioning staff.

I looked before I posted, but the complete lack of a mention either way made me think she has simply done as she forecasted.
Totally agree on the club gig, she is a fantastic example for the kids to follow regardless of gender

Welcome Rebecca:)

The GIANTS have recruited Carlton defender Rebecca Privitelli as a free agent for the upcoming AFLW season.

Privitelli is a key defender who played five games for the Blues in the inaugural AFL Women’s season.

The 22-year-old is a good distributor of the ball who is willing to leave her player and take intercept marks.

Having played footy since she was a child in Victoria, Privitelli went through the youth girls system and found her feet at senior level last year.

She will be used to strengthen the GIANTS’ defensive structure, but can also go forward if need be.

Williams, Beeson, and Privitelli playing in the VFLW for Hawthorn. Probably a good thing as Hawks do not have an AFLW team.

Just in... you've lost two players to the Cats.

Maddie Boyd - expected as she's from Geelong and plays VFLW for the Cats.
Phoebe McWilliams - although a Victorian and playing for Hawthorn in the VFLW, a surprise as she writes the AFL Sydney Women's media reports (which would have suggested a longer term stay at the Giants).

:angry:Bloody newbs stripping talent from traditional clubs. No doubt they'll waste it.
