Weird offseason.

Also the draft going national while we’re still building our list and trying to catch up to crows came way too early.

We’ve got very little chance of catching them for a while now. Realistically the crows had something like 6 years of sole access to Sa talent plus splitting talent between fewer teams and we’ve had what? 3 drafts shared access to Sa talent . That’s nowhere near enough. Mathematically the best approximation is we’ve had 30-40% of the assets to build a list as what they’ve had.

and now the crows have better draft picks going into this draft than us despite finishing higher plus not giving up anything of value this offseason.

Can we still compete and win? Sure, in the same way a guy with a lead weight tied to his nuts could outrun his competition if he’s good enough.

Idk about that. Najwa Allen is a good player, and Taylah Levy is building nicely.

Charlotte Riggs - util - (13th in Nov Power rankings & projected to go 6 -15 via rookie me central) or
Georgia McKee - small fwd. (15th in Nov Power rankings & projected to go 15-35 via rookie me central)

Feels like a weird period for us. No high draft picks, lots of outs and thus far only one in. Wonder what they're planning - it takes a squad to win a flag.

It also felt like a frustrating period. Getting to the Prelim taking a break with other things (the distraction of the AGM / B&F while the trade period is on). then waking up the 2nd last day & last day. While the mob down the road surprised by how well we did (and getting scared that we will soon overtake them) jumped from day 1 of the trade period with trades which got them a higher pick than us in the 1st round, then getting Ewings and then finally re uniting the Kelly sisters

speaking of Ewings I wonder if we could have tried to get back former Port next gen academy player -- Brooke Boileau who is playing for the cows
