PREDICTION FOR 2008 FINISH-

Marcellin= Quality year 12 players this year meaning in my eyes a premiership with the likes of stanton, zahakarakis, shuey ets. will lead them to a premiership with the strength in the year level un rivalled, pegs will be the danger as well as an improving yarra

PEGS= Last years premiers will find it a lot tougher this year but still expecting a strong showing, when you have players like maric and trengrove you are always going to be competitive at the least and wouldnt be suprised if the premiership was in reach late in the season

Yarra Valley= Will be the suprise packets with an extremely strong division of year 11's this year such as blease, gysberts, burnage, moore and scott they will provide very stiff opposition to many and all going well they have the potential to give it a shake if the younger players can stand up to the older players, will need support from a weak year 12 group though but it can be done

Peninsular= With luke adams the likely captain and leader of the side it will be really competitive but i find it hard to split 3-5 because of the closeness of the players but i see them getting good support through the younger years and also a strong year 12 group could put them top 3 if they gel well together

Assumption= A bit of an unknown this year with Peninsular in my eyes, they could be very very good or they could also be suprisingly weak with a few huge losses out of year 12 last year that will be tough to replace although their year 12 group is reasonably strong so anything is posbible but i am not expecting much

Trinity= Brown will captain and should do a good job of it the agsv cricket captain but apart from that i dont see great strength of depth and will continue their slide along with last year before a 3rd in the year of 2006

Ivanhoe= Year 12 along with camberwell is extraordinarily weak aside from Brunelli and walsh (one will captain). They will always struggle because of this.
Mentone= Reasonably strong year 12 but nothing special, George Rowlands in year 11 is proabably their best player and they will rely on him somewhat but i dont believe they will challenge at all (toss up between ivanhoe and metone for this spot, will depend on who wins they play)
Camberwell= Year 12 is the weakest in the competition and not expecting them to register a victory all season.

Mentone's team will predominately be year 12's with only a few year 11's and a few 10's.
Year 11 is a dud year at the school.
George Rowlands - Yr 11 - is a freak, and possibly the best year 11 in the AGS.

Aaron Tribizio is an absalute freak! could go places. Speedy player, hard at it, great disposal on both feet. Should be very promising. Josh Caddy on the other hand is very over rated. Needs to work harder, lacking fitness and discipline.

p.s wouldnt want to toot your own horn.. hey aaron?

Dont know their mate. Josh Caddy got a 14:4 beep test at marcellin,by most standards that is a very solid beep test.

i wouldnt be writing assumption off. theyve got a fair few boys from last yr plus a few new pick ups.PEGS and ACk 1st up in the shield should be a thriller an will show what both teams have got. ACK lost jackson charles for the year will be a massive loss. Holman Hill lawton an Collis look special in the practice games an are set for big years.Anyone else got any opinions

With all this hype leading into the upcoming season opener, Marcellin seem to have a few talented kids by the name of Tribuzio and Carberry. Tribuzio a player who is good in lane kicking and with a very strong pair of hands when no one is on him, good potential on AFL 2008, very talented player when by himself.
Carberry shows potential and with the incredible endurance could run over teams. The effort is just second to none, and will be a certainty coming into the practice game agaisnt Whitefriars.

Seen these two train over the holidays very hard to stop, and players to watch when the siren sounds against Whitefriars

Why do you say in one sentence that he is good, when A. no one is on him and B. when he is by himself? How does that make a good player? A player should be strong handed when under pressure, and most players should be talented when by themselves, under pressure its alot harder to perform than when your by yourself...... poor analysis.

Tiger-iffic, if you had been down and watched the Marcellin boys train you would soon realise that KEAF is taking the piss.

Blease & Melksham two best year 11's in the agsv both in AIS.
