personally I give more credence to what Akermanis says than every single one of the neville nobodys on this forum

I see that 'Aker's Acolytes' still has a couple of members left in the club - I thought most of the other 30-odd listeners he attracted on MTR would have left the club when that shithole of a station died.

As other have aritculated (articulation is something Aker and his followers have never been able to do well), Akermanis made baseless accusations of PED usage against an opponent who had the sheer audacity to pants him in a game. The accusations were investigated and proven to be utterly false - ever the opportunist, he has now used the latest developments on PED's as an insipid attempt to justify his earlier forgettable baseless allegations from 5+ years ago.

Akermanis was a brilliant footballer, one of the best I've seen in almost 40 years of watching the game. But he now has so little credibility when discussing matters of significance because he uses anything he says as a vehicle for self-justification and self-promotion. Thankfully 95% of the population can see through his routine - the other 5% will catch on eventually.

There has been some terrific discussion on both sides of the fence with regard to this issue in recent days...and then we get 'supple skin' and other pearls of wisdom from Akermanis. Such is his desperation, he will gladly whore himself to retain the barest hint of what has been one of the most spectacularly unsuccessful of AFL player media careers.

An army of West Coast supporters had a cry to the mods when I posted it the other day, but Akermanis already named Michael Braun as a player who he felt took PHD in the past. He was ripped apart at the time for even mentioning PHD in the AFL. Of course this doesn't mean Braun is guilty, but it should probably be re looked at. Preempting the crying again.

P.S. Making jokes about AIDS, stealing, boozing, fighting and swimming in hypocrisy....it wouldn't surprise me at all if Brock had taken PHD's. In fairness, if he has though, he probably deserves a refund.

Akermanis is actually correct when he makes the statement about clear skin, its a well known fact that users of EPO have shiny skin with a tanned look to it, cant really use that as a means of identifcation though.

I see people have been referring to a certain media personality who could have been on PED's, alot better example is a player that despite being massively overweight managed to succesfully return to the game and became an integral premiership player.

In regards to Braun, I genuinely do think it is quite likely alot of the Eagles Premiership team was doped up. I mean you have had Cousins, Hunter, Kerr and Chick all implicated in a drugs scandal at some point so they obviously had the connections needed to get they neccessary gear. And Chick was busted with steroids at perth airport in 2010, are we really meant to believe he started using them after his career was over, lol!

im not sure but dont peds only remain in the system for 24 hrs. arent there only a few places that can effectively test for them at great expense im not sure.

what im saying is the illegal drugs are so far in front of the testers its not funny. this latest fiasco will just die a natural death because theres no real way of catching the cheats.

why do we all think afl is different to other sports. there is imo a decent percentage of footy players taking performance enhancing drugs. i reckon we are pretty naieve if we think other wise. yeah its a generalisation but its just an observation and ultimately an opinion. its an opinion without rose coloured glasses.

Many players seem to get better when they move to a new club. In Brocks case not only did he move but last year Carlton was short of people. He got a chance he had not had for a while.

Sure he may be on PED's, but that could be said of anybody.

Does this work in reverse? Judd was an outstanding player at WCE, he became just a very good player at Carlton.
Does this mean he was on PED's at West Coast?

Listen buddy, that has nothing to do with what he was responding to. The contention is that McLean was playing crap for a couple of years then suddenly came good again so may be a candidate for PEDs. It has nothing to do with him believing publicity, being gutless, tanking allegations or anything else. Find another thread for your McLean rants.

Having said that, you probably weren't so damning of him when he donated $10k of his own money to the club.
