Re: Alistair Clarkson

Completely taken out of context, he was not having a swipe.

Yet Sheedy comes out and actually gets personal with Clarkson and you admire it.

Its pretty funny.

Sheedy's dispute with Clarkson is a separate issue and they will sort it out.

I dont understand why Clarkson would comment on EFC when Essendon and geelong helped facilitate the Burgoyne trade.

Clarkson definitely swings to a different beat to most.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

I don't get Clarkson's point. Is he trying to say that he will cheat the salary cap if it becomes too much of an issue for them? If he isn't saying this why did he even bring Essendon up? What he is saying makes no sense at all.

Essendon had to move players on because if they didn't they would have been over the cap. Hawthorn haven't moved any players on at this stage because they don't have to. If they end up in the same position as Essendon he will either have to trade out players or become a cheat

Clarkson needs to think before he comes out with his childish angry rants.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

Round 1 next year. Bring it on! :D

I can't ****ing wait. Hawthorn are fast becoming my most hated club. So bloody arrogant.

How about we make it round 2, Buddys not back until then.
Clarko is a bit out there, reminds me of a former Bombers coach, no need to take them so seriously.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

He really is a sad little man.

I feel sorry for him... he's pathetic.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

You're right; Hawthorn overtook Carlton as my most hated club this year.

I don't hate Hawthorn, they are just a sorry bunch of losers. I'd almost pity them for the embarassment they have put themselves through this year - but to be honest, they dug their own hole and probably deserve it.

I've seen a lot of threads and posts lately from Hawks supporters ripping into Essendon. Doesn't stress me out a great deal, you can tend to let things slide when you thunp a team twice, and end any chance of a finals campaign.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

Yeah, and yet he trades out Mark Williams, a premiership player, major finals contributor and, from accounts of Hawthorn supporters, a mentor figure for the young players.

Is he saying the Hawks had a horror trade week, or is he being purely hypocritical?
Or is he just trading someone who asked to be traded?

Re: Alistair Clarkson

Not defending Clarko for hitting Aitken but he got belted in return by Johnson and others. He was never reported again. What he did 15 years ago is completely irrelevant but it seems Essendon supporters keep bringing up this one incident like no one has thought of bringing it up before. Show a little more imagination

I think that incident comes up so frequently because highlights of Clarkson's playing career were so few and far between. What else did he do as a player that was noteworthy?? Fringe player. Battler. Small man syndrome.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

For me, this Hawthorn/Essendon rivalry is non-existent. I really get a thrill out of beating Collingwood, Carlton or even to a lesser extent, Richmond.

This year it was a thrill to beat the Hawks the first time because they were the reigning premiers, and the second time because we denied the reigning premiers a finals berth. But in any other year, I couldn't really give a f*** or two pieces of s*** or a hoot. In fact, I was even barracking for them in the granny against the Cats - so I couldn't hate them that much.

Good on the coaches for stirring the pot though - it's good for both clubs. No such thing as bad publicity.

It's a bit like the South Australia/Victoria thing; they think he hate each other - we are scarcely aware of their existence.

We should be playing Carlton or the Tigers in rivalry round.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

Hahahahah Reimers? You're joking right? Who has he ever beaten up? Dale Thomas? Maybe we should refer to him as Andrew Lovett II for belting a woman...

If you're going to send someone to defend your disgraced captain, at least send one of your tough players like McVeigh or Welsh...

Angus Monfries, one of the smaller players on our list looked at Campbell Brown with such a look of disdain when he girly slapped his arm. I'm sure Reimers would have no issue with him.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

I love when Dermott Brereton talks about Essendon and the rivalry. The bloke secretly loves us. The rivalry makes everything that happens between us bigger and better, its important to respect this.

You keep your friends close and your enemies closer. ;)

Let's just hope the AFL in their infinite wisdom schedule our games at the G from now on...

Dont see why Lloydy needs anybody to defend him, looks like he can look after himself :thumbsu:

Re: Alistair Clarkson

Looked like a calculated and deliberate snipe towards Essendon to me. He really went out of his way to specify Essendon and reel off the names like an anchorman reading the teleprompter.

Yeah he didnt beat around the bush.. This is great 6 wks later the angry ant is still talking Essendon and comparing them to us, still spiting blood over our cleanup job in round 22 I bet!!!

what round we playing em next year!!! will be on for young an old

has anyone posted a pic of campbell brown with a port jumper on yet!

Re: Alistair Clarkson

Exactly, nobody mentioned anything about culture or Essendon and he just spat it out instantly. Couldn't resist having a dig.

Bitter much?

umm your wrong there he was talking about how trading a player like brownie who is loved both by the group of players and supporters would of had an affect on the culture of our club.

than he said that essendon did that and it didnt work for them, he was just making a point.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

:thumbsu:

Thanks for your honesty, mate.

Re: Alistair Clarkson

um yeah i didnt write that so dont make it out like i did. where not scum like you essendon players.

Where?

Incidentally, I can't recall any Essendon players hitting a player who was concussed and in the arms of trainers. Can you say the same about your club?

Re: Alistair Clarkson

do you not remember sniper and hack llyod almost ending the carrer of superstar brad sewell or how about the time he knocked out josh thurgood ending his carrer. or there was the time he broke browns nose.

Answer the question.

Let's get one thing right, Thurgood's career had ended long before that.
